I used to love Nintendo, grew up with pretty much every console they launched and was a big fanboy. But after the Nintendo Wii U I will probably never buy another again, I hardly ever played it and when I did play online it just felt too far behind playstation and xbox for online gameplay. I don't know what it is I just don't feel like they capture that same feeling they once used to do. Maybe it is because I have gotten older and have lost that inner kid but I hope it is a success either way. 

honestly for me i dont trust nintendo i loved the gamecube but ever since every console is based around a gimmick, i just want a fricken console that plays games i dont need a wii wank or a wii u remote control emu catcher i just want something i can sit down and use a real controller and play actual fun games

You make some good points, just imagine if they made a dedicated high powered gaming machine to match the new PlayStation and Xbox coming out. Like you said none of the gimmicks, get back to what made Nintendo great but also get with the times, like achievements/trophies, better online experience.

Like for example playing Mario Kart 8 online, the only way you could communicate was through pre selected phrases which were all nice and good, like "I'll beat you next game", "I'm excited", "Good game". I want to be able to at least give a little banter online. I understand they don't want people paying each other out like say in Halo over the mic but it's too suited for kids which takes away from the online experience which in turn made me play less. imo. 

I feel like Nintendo will be destroyed if they tried to copy the Xbox and Playstation. Having these gimmicks and casual party/family games make them different from the other consoles and avoid direct competition. It wasn't unusual for a household to have both a Wii and a PS3/Xbox 360 due to the huge differences between them.

Oh for sure, I don't think they would realistically be able to compete with playstation or xbox but I think they would get at least get a lot more people playing it if they did make a dedicated gaming system with out the gimmicks. Of course only doing that would not be enough, they really need the 3rd party support as well because while the classics like Mario Kart,Zelda, Smash Bros are great it will not be enough to keep people interested in the long run. 

I do respect them for not being the same and trying something different as we do need that in the gaming community. 

If the Switch is decently priced and has some sort of subscription service where I can play classic games then I'll be interested, other wise I don't see the point personally

i think a lot of good points are made here, i understand nintendo cannot complete with xbox and playstation in many ways for me i do not do online gaming i am not too sure but nintendo's service is free but xbox live gold and playstation access i think its called costs money? for me i can only afford one console and i will go for the one which is the most rounded

i love the idea of options, you can let me use any kind of remote/motion controls like i enjoyed playing games on the kinnect(spelling might be off), i loved guitar hero with a tiny small toy guitar but if my only option is motion stuff then i am going to pass

nintendo used to be the king of party games, super smash brothers, mario party ect i dont know if there is a market for that anymore also i agree with online there should be a way adults can talk because pre determind phases like that only really work for dark souls even if messages like this sometimes happens

How good is BF1. Really impressed. They've finally nailed a single player component. 

Im up to the four war story and so far its been amazing.

Anyone else on here a Mass Effect fan? It is one of my favourite video game series and not to long from now it will be N7 day in the US, which is when they will release a new trailer for Mass Effect Andromeda. I've played the trilogy probably over 20 times each all the way through, so I am a pretty big fan boy, from what I have seen so far of Andromeda it is looking really good. 

I have never played the others but I have seen the teasers and they look amazing.
I am more hyped for Red Dead Redemption 2 though. 

Anyone else try "overwatch" during the free weekend?
Downloaded it to the PS4 and it was great. I used to play Team Fortress 2 for years and this felt like a turbo charged version of that.
Best of all it is half price during this week. Snapped it up for $50.

Yea, really looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2 as well. I've kind of gone off shooters but have heard good things about Overwatch.

Another TF2 player, say it ain't so! I'm in the same boat as you I guess, loved Hat Simulator for years but like Overwatch the more I play it and will be buying it soon. 

I play online. Absolutely amazing. Its one of the few games I can top online. 

Overwatch is pretty good. Have played it once or twice myself. My sister thinks its the greatest. 

I was watching a competitive esports channel on twitch for Overwatch and it is addictive watching it so I am thinking of giving it a go myself. Also a new Mass Effect Andromeda game play trailer was released today. 

Seagull and STAR_ (both ex-TF2) are great Youtubers for Overwatch content, I would recommend either if you haven't seen them already

now i have hated the final fantasy series for a very long time after playing x and wanting to throw myself off a cliff for having to experience that however XV is such a fun game i really am enjoying it even if its a weird game

Fucking hell when I play with ransoms on bf1 its like playing with a bunch of inbred cuûnts. Fuck me. All following the attack order like a bunch of fucking morons and then wonder why we lose the other 4 objectives. When I'm with my mates we clean up. All you need is 2/3 players defending at each objective to hold out while other collect objectives. Then the main team takes out the untaken objectives. 

It isn't hard. 

Sounds like 99% of online shooters in a nutshell to me. Not familiar with BF1 yet, I take it there's no ranked/competitive multiplayer so you can play against similarly skilled/experienced opponents?

I go medic. No one does it cos all    - oops, I just ate my own poop...s want is kills and a sikh kd ratio. I always make highlights and make top 5. I bust my ass for objectives and make sure everyone is alive. What burns my nut are a couple of things.

1. We are taking the objective. You won't respawn there if we haven't taken the objective. I am 5 metres away. Why the fuck are you respawning off the objective.

2. You can go 900 and 1 for all I care. If you have no objectives, you are as useless as someone who got kicked for inactivity. Learn the fucking rules.

3. Sheep. A group of 20 taking 1 objective, All good and well but who is defending?

4. TAKING AWAY A SQUAD ORDER WHEN YOU HAVEN'T COMPLETED THE SQUAD ORDER. 3 seconds until you take the objective and complete the order, a shit tonne of points coming our way, only for it to be changed cos the twelvie who is leader prema'd all over his ps cos we got the objective. WAIT CUUNT!

I could go on all day but I hate playing with randoms I can't talk with. When my mates and I play, I top the board and we wreck the other team 1000 to 300 because we arent dumb fucks.

Its unranked 30 on 30. Good game. Full of morons though. Similar to Overwatch.

Got 59 hours of gameplay so far lol.

I play Medic or Assault. Model 10-A is just too satisfying atm. Always love taking out tanks and snipers - my two biggest hates in BF. Nothing shits me more than going on a tear but then getting dropped by some neckbeard 300 metres away. I've never understood sniping in BF, it's just opposite to my personality/game style, I don't think staying out of the action looking down a scope is exciting or worth any effort at all and I strongly hate everyone that finds it fun or rewarding. It's boring pussy shit for boring pussies (compare the usual comatose sniper to someone like xFactor on Youtube, that is fucking sniping) 

Preaching to the choir re sniping. I always just use a mate who is obsessed with it to cover me at least. If you're going to be useless, at least pretend to help. 

Haha till you try and do it in real life (long range shooting that is).
