+x+x+x14,668 Sydney Fc vs Melbourne City Would have got 20k at Alliance. Stupid from Sydney FC to schedule away from their home base. Apparently a concert at Alliance, so couldn't play there. With Chris Martin on the field Sydney FC could have played with 11 men

Roar/Adelaide PAX was 16,037 at 9 AM this morning. No rain forecast so the actual attendance might crack 15k

@ Victory>Heart
PAX at Suncorp tends to run high for some reason do 16k equates to 14-15k ticket sales but they'll do double today's sakes tomorrow so should hit 18k on PAX .... but the confusing thing is this is a 13-14k attendance so whys it hitting such highs lol?

Roar always recon they sell double the tickets on game day as they do the day before, so if we guesstimate 750 are sold today (based on the two PAX numbers published) that's another 1,500 sold tomorrow which would take the PAX to 18,100 ish. But PAX is always about 2k higher than actual attendance at Suncorp so maybe 16k then, which would be bloody good

Wellington vs CCM wasn't 5,234. The ground announcer said the crowd was mid 4k.

16k at ANZ for the Wanderers
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

It is about the Media. These crowds are the core supporters and don't include any football / fringe a-league fans. Why? Because the media did its traditional "its sokkah so i wont report it". Yesterday, on the 4 lead online sports stories on the SMH was a league story, a cricket story (despite cricket having its own dedicated section) and 2 fu%@ing union stories. How does the paper justify 2 union stories, im summer, when it clearly has bugger all of a following. Meanwhile 2 sydney a-league teams at home this weekend and you would have to go digging alot to figure that out.
This is just one example of what has happened the last 6 weeks. Ill say it once, and im sure ill say it again, no other code woould come close to the level of support the a-league gets on the equivalent media treatment.

In saying that i was expecting more from both sydney crowds. Tony pignata had predicted 18k-20k and came well short of that. The wsw were playing arguably their biggest game outside of a derby, off a win in central coast and playing in the west yet still only just scraped over 16k. Wellington need to go. they are a farce and are now quickly turning into the nz knights of year 1 and 2. the club is run on a shoestring budget when really they should be going absolutely all out to push their brand and get support. doing what they have been doing the past 3 years in order to balance the books is not enough. its not just about balancing the books, its about growing the game, adding value rather than constantly dragging the rstings and attendances down which devalues our league as a whole. Perth attendance was lower than i was expecting considering the way the ckub has been going even off the field. my guess is thay people have bought 5 game memberships and decided not to go to the newcastle match as it is a low value encounter.

The two Sydney sides averaged 15.5k which is respectable but nothing to write home about about. It looks like this season will be flat to a modest decline in attendances which will be disappointing after such an optimistic start.
The FFA gave us yoishi but then turned it into an ad for Melbourne City and Cahill (why did they make him pick a team?) and that's it.
Roar have been traveling well and it's noticeable that every game has had strong marketing around it, probably for the first time in their history. Today's game has had the lowest marketing effort but even then we've got a double header, kids go FREE and 10% off for coaches. Let's see what happens. Hopefully 15k+

Roar/AU PAX at midday today was 18,059
The average crowd for this fixture over the years is 12,800 so anything over 14k is going to be good.
