It would be good to see people on here who dislike the idea of Nix in the HAL play the ball not the man. Many have played the ball, but it would be better to see all do it.

In the last 6 months we seem to have lost a lot of regular 'ball players' from 442. Their contributions have been missed. It is good to have a football forum where a diversity of views can be expressed. Even though others proffer different views from mine, I respect their right to do so. From reading different perspectives, one's own may evolve over time.

This thread on crowds has been very popular. Many have enjoyed reading the data. We should all appreciate the work others do so that the rest of us can view crowd stats objectively.

My point is the FFA is effectively giving NZ Football 2.3m a year so the Nix can play in a professional league. It should be the other way around if NZ want a professional team in Oz.

Not sure of your point really

They pull the worst ratings on Australian TV and thus make the smallest contribution to Foxtel's valuation of the TV rights, and don't make up for it by providing decent money from New Zealand TV - and that's before we consider all the other poor metrics, inconveniences, anomalies, and the help we provide to the development of a national team in not just another country but another confederation.

How hard is it to get that point?

But you don't get it, New Zealand is an undeveloped football island nation that needs a professional club (or two) in the A-League. They cant do it on there own plus we got 3 more years to improve.

That's all well and good, but if you need a professional football club or 2 and if you can't do it on your own then you should pay for it...

You're kidding, they've been paying there own way since inception, no handouts whatsoever, how many of these expansion clubs are prepared to pay their own way? That's right none!

how many other A-league clubs can say the same? That's right none!

New clubs are wanting to come in now because the stipend from the FFA will be in excess of the salary cap keep which means all clubs should be able to trade profitably

I don't mean by just being self supporting but they should be paying money directly to the FFA for their license fee.

NZ football only contribute 200k but that is lost due to the salary cap payments.

Can we have a discussion about A League attendances, there's a game on this evening, funnily enough, between Perth and the Nix.

BBL is a mickeymouse competition that people enjoy but it's not taken seriously. I play cricket and watch cricket yet don't know a single proper fan of a BBL team. We shouldnt worry about the BBL, nor compare it to the A-League.

Slug the 100k junior players in NZ with a $25 levy to pay for the WP salaries. We slugged our own participants to fund the NSL, and still do to fund god knows what. We actually have this perverse scenario where we fund our own federation in Australia, it funds football in another country and has cut funding futsal here. It's shambolic. Gallop's justification is that indoor football is, and I quote, "more of a community thing" ... well you know what? I think football in New Zealand is more of a community thing as well, so their community of 5 million people can bloody well pay for it.

Considering theyre packing out stadiums all over the country i doubt this bothers them, one of these teams could dress as mickey mouse and thousands would still turn up lol.

No kids free but massive sales again, could land up being 11-12k again.

Weather tipped to be 33 and sunny so should be perfect by 8pm.

No-one seems to support the particular teams yet it fills stadiums and rates well on tv because people just like to watch cricket.
Seems there's a lot that we (and the other sports) in Australia could learn from when it comes to activating fans.
