+x+xSo much hate from the usual 442 forumites. Twitter on the other hand is going nuts about it.. in favour of the new logo.
Personally i think its a big step better than what we had.
Oh Twitter, well that changes everything :doze:
A blind monkey could have done better than the last logo, I hear he was busy though setting up the fixtures for next season.
What does that even mean? I'm not talking about the Twitter execs, just general people. Or is Twitter meant to be some mysterious place where only fucked up people with fucked up views go to share? Sorry I should clarify, thousands of people on twitter and facebook. So in other words thousands times the amount of people on here. And being Twitter, usually the easiest place to hate on things, the views were actually mostly positive.

If you look under FFA tweets and fb posts i swear they are bots, staff. Its the same type of crap spewed by gallop. Fuck me, you look likeone of those that would lap up a good 911 conspiracy theory. Bots.. Sure thing.. What about the people commenting from people that had shared it? Or are they all part of this setup too?

Timing of the release is a bit shit but im hearing that they couldnt wait until the off season for the launch due to manufacturing issues and timing with refards to getting them done for the new shirts. Dubious perhaps but whatver no big deal. 442 is starting to head the way of other forums where a group of posters so constantly post negatively posts they turn people off from using the site.
If you read 442 you could be excused for thinking football in Australia was run buy a headless chook is a hopeless is a rabble and be forgiven for thinking football was in it's last days.
Further you would find it hard to believe they have second only to AFL the highest sponsorship and over $100 a year revenue.
FFA are a long way from perfect but neither are they hopeless nor led by an incompetent management team. You could argue that the Lowy family with over 70 years experience in Australian football and there business knowledge would be hard to beat
I actually think it's time for a change and at the end of the contracts we need new leadership with both Gallop an Lowy to go but that does not mean everything they do it's hopeless.

Have to agree, don't post on here just read the constant crap spewed out by the same old negative posters. Would love to see what sort of job these people would do running the game.

+xits good enough. its not that important for a serious debate. My only issue they do a rebrand but nothing changed. Rebrand plus new teams at the same time, great it's exciting. Rebranding and maybe some new teams in the next season. WTF are you doing.

Very basic but not the worst.
Probably could've run a competition in a high school graphics class and got a better design.
There definitely are worse out there though.

+x+xits good enough. its not that important for a serious debate. Why was it changed ? I work in graphic design and from my experience re-brands are almost always undertaken as a reaction to a plateau in the business itself (eg: sales, new customers, etc). I would assume that with the new TV deal, they would want a new look to re-capture peoples attention. It should be noted that current fans, members, etc are not the target audience here. The logo has no impact on whether we follow the league or not. We are still going to follow the league regardless of what the logo looks like. We will have our say about whether we like it or not and then pretty quickly move on to more important issues. This new look is used more as a tool to attract the attention of new customers. Whether it's good or bad, any change will get attention. Personally I think it's a bit on the generic and dull side, but it is in-offensive enough that it's not an eyesore. My only hope is that they didn't go over the top on the budget for this re-brand. Personally i think a competition would have been a great way to engage directly with the football community, and in the process save a bit of money.

on viewing the new logo design I came to an immediate conclusion it's very shit however, when reviewed in a just flat colours/light fades/gradient (no bevel, or other additional elite/advanced photoshop techniques) and not hiding the E behind the A. it has quite good visual impact when this is done to it

Yeah FFA its pretty worrying that the FFA would even consider re-branding the A-league in isolation to the w-league/Y-league. Shouldn't need a design/marketing agency to tell you that.

Was about to say the same thing. Equality is so important in Australian culture today that it would be insane to re-brand the Mens league and ignore the Womens league. Probably why they went with a generic logo that's not gender or age specific to cover all bases. Definitely shows how out of touch the FFA can be at times. At least they had enough common sense to listen to an expert.
