Good luck to Dimi.He has improved a lot at Roar. But for me he has many deficiencies, which for such an important role needs a top shelf player to lift Roar to the next level.Maybe Dimi will learn more and improve in a different environment..Every team needs to off load some players and bring in new blood to improve.Roar this year have struggled and are not the skilled disciplined outfit needed to win anything.
SFC is the benchmark this season and Roar are not at their level.
Losing a few players opens up space for new players to strengthen weak areas.
We need a quality AM who can score,as Broich is now a bits part player,Pertat is gone and Holman is not a playmaker.
If JMac leaves then a different type of striker could ne brought in with some backup.
SFC have shown if the front four players can score regularly it makes a huge difference.Other teams ,including the Roar can't afford to sit on players who pass and look threatening but don't score.Replace them.Afterall ,there is no huge loss.

Petratos is so rocks and diamonds not overly fussed that he's gone.

re your back 7 - I recon Roar will be in the market for a new goalkeeper in the winter. Theo over Young is for me a sign that Young is on the outer with JA and is seen firmly as a ba k up keeper

No, Young was here when he arrived. He did pick him for most of last season though.

Mainly due to Theo being injured, the decision to drop him for Theo in the back end of last season probably cost us the league.

That's my opinion as well. But young does appear out of favour given Theo's recent blooper reel - what does he have to do to get dropped? So it's pure speculation but I do recon Theo will retire or move on at the end of the season and a new keeper brought in - Aloisi can't have missed the obvious: every title winning side has a great keeper

Luke DeVere has re-signed, so out of the big-4 Mckay, DeVere and Kristensen have signed. Maclaren looks a lost cause but with Oetratos leaving and Maccers form there might be some wiggle room?
Pepper and Katebian will most likely re-sign Arana I'm not sure on but I think he's well respected in the club, and Broich could do one more year

Theo and North have been great for us but it's probably the end, both could move into the coaching staff though?

So in the winter we'll be shopping for a Striker, CB and goalkeeper with one, two possibly three visa slots available.

Not that I'm expecting him to sign up again. May be the ACL if we get out of the group (if we get into the group first :)). I thought I had seen that North had signed for an extra year, may be mistaken though.

i would not be against a Pataalu return if he is available next term,  as an exprienced squad player..

According to the contracts thread (which might not be uptodate, so if any these players have resigned let me know), out of the players off contract at other clubs here a a few names id see as good value for roar.

Up front (all poachers, all have high work rate)
 Roy O’Donovan
 Sergio Cirio
 Ricky

 CB (all good age)
 Dylan McGowan
 Ruon Tongyik
 Nick Ansell

Keeper (the best and the best young keeper IMO)
Eugene Galekovć (he'll never leave adelaide though surely)
 Jack Duncan

 Midfield (as cover over pepper)
 Mitch Nichols
 Shannon Cole
 Steven Ugarković

Not sure on Broich and being an Aussie. Be nice if he were. North is off contract and hasn't yet re-signed.

I think Roar will be looking for a striker, CB and goalkeeper for the new season

Everyone else will just be squad fillers.

I know we are going to lose money and that people hate the atmosphere. But glad it is at suncorp, so sick of gold coast for roar game. 20 dollar a game is pretty good.

Agreed it had to be Suncorp. Playing outside of Brisbane is a disgrace.

They've got the packaging right this time with $60 for three games good value plus ticket have halved their fees which is like an alcoholic giving up half a bottle of wine. Unheard of lol.

+x@ lolitsbigmicAgreed it had to be Suncorp. Playing outside of Brisbane is a disgrace. They've got the packaging right this time with $60 for three games good value plus ticket have halved their fees which is like an alcoholic giving up half a bottle of wine. Unheard of lol. have you had any news about if they got anything off the public transport fee? sounds like they are doing some dealings. I hope we can get 6k to the games. I just have a feeling about this acl run, they we might progress deep into the comp.

Just need to set up something on the weekend.

			    @ lolitsbigmic
I know there was some hard negotiating going on and they seem to have an improved stadium deal as well as somehow getting Ticketek to halve their fees which has long been a sore point with fans. I haven't heard if the government supported them on the transport levy but as the deal was done today/yesterday it'll be next week before they make a decision. I'll try and find out.

On the crowd - with these prices I'm hoping for close to 10k, we got 7k to the first game on the GC two years ago so we should beat that at home (surely???)

I really don't understand why people are against playing at the GC? I realize it's not our home ground which is one negative but surely the smaller compact field will provide a better atmosphere and shoving it up the nose of Suncorp management has some benefits.

			    @ Paul c
Fans on the coast loved it, as did many living in the south but for those north/east/west of the city it made travel difficult. It's not like it's close (90km away?). I couldn't make the games by train last time due to the timetable not working which wasn't too bad as I did the park n ride thing but I was still getting home after 11 with a young kid asleep in the back seat

As waz said, the travel time. So tough to get to the game then an hour drive home.

Adds an hour each way to travel. When you already travel 45 minutes to suncorp, it just makes it unfeasible for most north-siders.

I was a little annoyed there wasn't member seating. Then i saw they closed half so that everyone is sitting on the eastern stand on one tier, so we all jammed in on the side facing the tv camera. As the member all sit on the western stand normally. The crowd will at least look decent on tv.
Also have wife approval for our wedding anniversary date. Great success.

That's not as much as I thought. I'm trying to remember how much they lose normally use for acl.
