We need to keep that winning feeling !!!!! v's Brom. Every game is huge and Brom will sit deep waiting for us, without Sane another challenge but the brazillians have to do it for us fingers crossed. Spurs at home vsing Bournemouth first up, looking likely a Spurs win BUT never know, love a draw. City will do it hard against the Black Kats at home, big result for us even a draw would be good enough. A draw at OT ? be nice :) Boro to give arse a huge test needing points in the relegation battle. Its over for arse but to save face and prepare for Europa in a long long time.

Selfish play there by Moreno- he had an unmarked goal and a team mate either side of him who could've made it a sure thing and instead had to go for glory and take a shot that proved completely useless. The minutes to this game dragged by...the most interesting part of the game was the last 10 minutes.....but a win is a win is a win and considering (as I type this) Zlatan has been dropped for their clash with Chelsea, this mornings' result could well be pivotal.

it was never going to be easy but a very controlled game nonetheless. Fugly thats for sure. Milners sitter, this just made it harder and kept giving them hope. Moreno gets on last minutes and proves even more we need to shift him - seriously the way we hung on last moments to be presented with that golden chance I shake my head. Bagged the points.

He actually made the 2nd best decision in shooting and not passing to the idiot that is Daniel Sturridge. Could argue he should have passed to Can, but not sure Moreno ever saw him.

haha, yer well that true as much I hate to be against one of our own - I dislike his goal routine much so at least we didn't get to see that but I still would have liked that chance bagged.

If he'd passed to Sturridge he could have banged it top corner from 35 yards out and it wouldn't have mattered since Sturridge was offside the whole time. Like I said, he made the 2nd best decision since it was either going to go in or go out for a goal kick which just wastes time and makes Foster have to come all the way back.

Cue the usual weeping and gnashing of teeth over on the official FB page. Nonsense like "We won't even finish top 10" and "There goes the CL- lucky to have Europa League next season"... It's amazing how quickly people forget the previous two weeks where this team got 6 points on the road in fixtures they would've struggled with not so long ago. Or that, in the past month, Palace have taken all three points from the League leaders and schooled Arsenal. They're not exactly relegation battlers... The biggest rivals for CL right now are United and Arsenal. Arsenal? Their problems are well-documented, they lose too many games and I can't see them applying the consistent pressure that they'd need to finish with wind in their sails and grab the CL spot/s up for grabs. United have played well of late- but their #1 striker is gone, they have a crowded fixture coming up AND they've got Spurs, Arsenal and City all to come- away from OT. They've gone 20-odd games undefeated, but in that time they've climbed a single place on the ladder. Like us back in 2008-09, they've had too many draws and (again like us, in 2013-14), there's too much from here on that needs to fall in their favour for them to reach their ultimate goal. Although stranger things have happened, and f**k me if the planets haven't conveniently aligned for that lot time and time and time again over the past quarter of a century... Anyway, bias aside? I think LFC will slot into the CL qualifications. Apart from the shit run in January, they've got the points more often than not this season and taking a look at their run home, I imagine this mornings' game will serve as a wake-up call from Klopp and a reminder that if the players want CL football, they've got to play like they want it.

Pretty well summed up CH. I'm sure as many like me just get pissed we can't keep the wins turning over at this present important stage. The last 2wks have been great to finally win those other "bogie" games no doubt about it. Palace have been a bogie since after Luis left, I just don't know why we struggle every single time against teams who sit back on us but I degress easy being a keyboard warrior. We must get those points against watford whilst the 2 below us have 2 games to deal with in quick succession.

I actually think Watford are the most difficult of the games left, like Palace they're a mid-table side who are capable of knocking off bigger teams. I was more concerned about dropping points against Stoke and WBA- both "sit back and defend" teams.

Stoke have always been tuff for us for as long as I've known but stats say otherwise.... I think that 6-1 drubbing back in 2015 haunts us recent times. Brom, similar stats our way but closer games, not many convincing wins. Watford last 5 games - 3 wins, 1 loss 1 draw....earlier this year 0-0, 2016 3nil win to us, 2015 watford 3nil. Our run left is Watford A - 10th safe. I expect a bounce back win. Southampton H - 9th safe. Tuff but should be a win. Hammers A - 14th safe. they will be riding on pride and have had us more than I'd like, last 3 league games are in their favour plus FAcup win. I can't pick it. Boro H - 19th relegation. If this isn't a win we deserve nothing.

The Stalemate in Manchester this morning works well in Liverpool's favour. Taking a look at United's run home and the only "easy" game they have left appears to be Swansea at OT this weekend. Besides that they've got the distraction of Europa League and a depleted side. On form I'd put City below Liverpool, but they're 3 points ahead with an easy run home from here as well. If LFC could somehow finish above City then I reckon they'll be locked in for the top 4.

CH, the logical way is win these last 4 and its left to the other 2 to respond BUT I'm feeling that won't happen :( Its a knife edge imo for the 3 of us, one slip and the door is half shut.

I reckon LFC will get 3 wins and a draw from these final four games. That's 10 points total for a final haul of 76 points.

Well, that isn't too bad a finish, I'll take that. One thing is for sure both manchester clubs are just as inconsistent or worse. We have a slim chance. Lovren has signed an extended stay...like I'm not so sure about this but I suppose Kloppy is just locking in for continuity at this stage.

Thank you Swansea! That was United's easiest game in the run home and they blew it. They and Crystal Palace have both, in the past 24 hours, highlighted what was wrong for LFC last weekend- they were overconfident and dropped points at home in a game they assumed they could coast in. 3 points against Watford just got even bigger...

Both Manchester draws have played in our hands for now, even the north london result has given some other breathing space if at all needed. Looking likely Lallana and Sturridge on the bench against the Hornets. I'm sure they all know what is at stake - just hope we can work around another park the bus scenario.

:PEMRE ! WTF what a goal  take that cleverly ! Lallana's sideline footwork, Lucas's floated pass then CAN's aerial whooohooo.Well put in fellas as needed to.....big effort, away win against a very well run Watford. We were under the pump huge last 15 and they hit the bar very late but not to be. Coutinho copped a dead leg hope he's ok after the physios work on him for the week. Nice to have Lallana come back huge plus for the coming last games. Sturridge made a late appearance and near on put one away by some nice play - another bonus for next week on. Keep this going Kloppy.

Watching Can's goal:
In all seriousness though, this mornings' game was like the matches against Stoke and WBA more recently- not the most convincing of wins in regard to the overall performance or the final score- but they found a way to get the win. IF Can mis-timed his shot or IF the ball had gone just a few centimetres higher or IF Prodl's last-gasp shot had gone just a few centimetres lower, the comments on social media today would be totally different. More recently, LFC have been reminiscent of Fergie's United sides of old- those ones who'd luck themselves into wins time and time again. At this point I'd suggest last weeks' loss was a lapse after the recent wins, and looking at other games over the weekend it looks like Palace and United made the same error we did- they were both at home, having recorded some impressive wins of late and figured (considering their opponents) they'd be able to back off a little and still claim full points. All in all a near perfect weekend as far as Liverpool's concerned, and I'm glad they took maximum points from what I regarded as their most difficult fixture in the run home...

I consider the coming game the most difficult. Were doing it tuff against Saints lately. Since our 6-1 win back in 2015 the next 4 have gone win to them next 3 draws ! I'll take a draw worst case scenario but I don't think it will be a stalemate this game.

Milner's had a great run from the penalty spot, but I had a feeling he wouldn't net it as soon as he ran in. Seeing a big unit like Forster standing in goal, ranging about like a gorilla looked ominous to Jimmy's chances. Biggest problem from this game was Klopp not making substitutions earlier. Had he done so 10 minutes earlier I reckon they would've come away with 2 more points. I have to say, Liverpool's defence was great- constantly beating Southampton to the ball in the mid-field and breaking it down in back-play. It could've been that kind of game where they got a run against the play and netted it from their one and only chance, but we always looked safe. Again, Arsenal and Man United showed why I'm not overly concerned about the top 4 race. I expected 3 wins and a draw to see out the last 4 games, and I wouldn't be surprised to get the W against West Ham next weekend precisely because people suddenly think it's mission impossible. They claimed Tottenham's scalp, they're at home again, they're playing us, they haven't conceded in their last two games at The London Stadium, people are wanking on about how they finally found their "home" atmosphere last week...I reckon they may get a little overconfident heading into this one...

Well, it sure wasn't going to go hammers way this time. We turned up and controlled the game from the koff. Sound performance when needed. Sturridge done just what we needed, Coutinho through ball one on one Studge hardly miss's. One of those games we had complete control tbh. Lets finish off boro.

So as expected I felt quietly confident all day about this one. There was a nervous energy, considering the Gooners are suddenly stringing wins together and considering LFC's much- publicised record against teams outside the top 6 this season. But come time for kick-off I felt calm about it, figuring this was the perfect opportunity for the team to hold nothing back and make a statement as to why they truly deserve to mix it with the best in Europe next season. This was THE prime chance to lay down a direct response to Arsenal routing Stoke. We all know they're good enough when they rise to the occasion- and here was the occasion... I couldn't be more pleased. Aside from that unbelievable post-hit while defending a corner late in the first half, Liverpool were clinical- exactly as they needed to be. Sturridge's opening goal was so clinical I thought it'd been called offside for a moment. Coutinho's dribble-dribble-shoot job to make it 3-0 looked effortless. They came out in the second half and- exactly as I hoped- had the pedal to the floor straight away again. West Ham were definitely below their best today, but again credit (aside from that double-post hit) must go to LFC's defence- quick on the ball, effective at breaking down possession mid-field and playing it long for Sturridge and Coutinho to run onto. At around the 70th minute mark I cast my mind back to Selhurst Park, May 2014 and was cautious about getting too happy just yet. But the team kept form, kept focus and could quite easily have made it 5-0 if Origi had been selfless enough to hoof it inside for Sturridge to latch onto late in the game. So now, one more game. Granted it's against Middlesborough, back at home, but the job isn't finished yet. They have nothing to lose and we have everything to gain. Klopp needs to treat next week like a seamless continuation of what we saw today, regardless of whatever happens in Arsenal or Man City's catch-up games. Time to finish the job and prove once and for all why we deserve to play Champions League...

yes no doubt about our defense this game - it was sound solid, infact one of the best the last weeks. Coutinho's deeper role looked to suit him, granted WH just weren't in it today therefore he had plenty of space and time looking like a great position switch but tbh I think it will work great in the future. Don't know what we would do without him. Origi being selfish to make it 5 was just as Carra said in the commentry, being a typical forward Sturridge also would have done the same. Then again thinking back to the SS days, Luis would have crossed. He put in a great shot that skimmed the top cross bar - Wijnaldums cracker strike also smashing the bar. 26 shots to 10. Overall it was the statement needed as mentioned.

Cheers- I'll drink to that (literally) What a difference from the first half to the second. Before Winjaldum's goal, watching Liverpool trying to get clear of Borough was like trying to score with a 3/10 coming off a 5 year drought. I had SBS on, and the Arsenal- Everton game live updates on the Fox news site and I was beginning to think maybe this is just how it was meant to be- not being able to take max points off speed bump teams cost Liverpool CL football and Arsenal finish 4th (of COURSE!) But that goal from Winjaldum was massive, especially on the cusp of half time. From there it was like watching a well-seasoned player scoring at will. As far as I'm concerned, this season has been a success. Apart from that rubbish in January (we could have been in Tottenham's place and pushed Chelsea all the way- remember that), this is exactly what most Liverpool fans hoped for last August- and here we are. And at least Claude doesn't have to fuck Ty :P
