Well done lads.
Maybe this is something the FFA can build into their Social Media Platforms (for free of course)

+xWell done lads. Maybe this is something the FFA can build into their Social Media Platforms (for free of course) Definitely. There is plenty of money to be made from both the tv visuals. Football queensland have done this to perfection. They could sell ad rights elsewhere but as far as Im concerned they are going alright. According to fft they lose money broadcasting but then again they dont have any in play ads or anything.

+xThis is a reasonable quality game. I dont wish to derail this thread but one can only imagine if you replaced the worst 3 players from each team with 3 visa players who were the best on the team and also upgrade the 2 current visa players. There is much potential for non- A-League football.

This commentator is good but why does he insist on saying "drop zone" instead of relegation zone and teams that were "elevated" last season instead of promoted? odd
I keep thinking of skydiving

If you are going to monitor FB views to track awareness of games, you should be aware of what that means. FB counts a view as someone watching 3 sec of video. This includes video in feeds that autoplays without sound.
If you want to monitor interest, you need to monitor Click to play. This is the count of people who actually selected the video. Typically, most of the people counted as `views`, only have the video play for a short time (as they were not actually looking at it), people that click to play have it play a lot longer (they are actually watching it).
However, Facebook likes big numbers, so they display the view count, not the click to play count, and I do not know that you can access it for video you haven't posted on your own page.
Click to play is generally a tiny portion of the total views (10-20%), but accounts for the majority of people actually watching the video.
Views is a metric designed to make facebook look good (its why they use 3sec, and not 30 like youtube), and give a big number to advertisers, but it doesn't tell you much about how many people actually watched something.
Other useful proxies are shares, likes and comments. The Bulleen Lions stream above has 12k views, 144 likes, 36 shares and 222 comments. From that you can get a general idea of engagement with the video.
