Here are the rankings updated to all games up to and including yesterday. Since the last list, we had the FFA Cup Quarter Finals, the NPL Championship Semi Finals and Grand Final, as well as the first two rounds of the A-League. Central Coast are up to 12th, although the 4-0 loss nearly dropped them below South Melbourne. And Adelaide still holds a slight lead on 1st position, but Melbourne City are very close to taking the top spot.

+xInteresting that so far the data shows that, on raw results, NNSW and WA are definitely undeserving of their 2nd spots. In defence of WA, I'm going to say we've had extremely bad luck with the draws... Of the 6 matches, 4 of them we hosted an A-League side, which you'd naturally expect the A-League side to win. The other 2 matches, we travelled away to strong (by state-league standards) NSW & Victorian teams. We've never yet hosted a state-league opponent in the cup.

That's a fair point FFA Cup wise, and will have to start to even out over the next 3-5 years. Plenty of NPL teams have managed wins interstate though so that shouldn't be as much of a problem as playing the a-League sides. I am pretty sure that the NPL playoffs are also included so you would expect WA teams to rise if they do consistently well home and away in that comp.

Updated to include the games played over the weekend. The FFA Cup semi final between Canberra Olympic and Sydney FC has had an impact on all teams from ACT since the last update. And the rest of the movement is from A-League and NYL games.

People have given SFC a hell of a lot of shit over the years, and most of that is certainly fair dos. But right now, we are miles out on top of the table, we won the youth league last season, lost the GF of the W-league and were 5 minutes from an Asian Champions League Quarter-Final. Rankings showing that. Also interesting South Melbourne not far off the big boys now.

It's been over seven months since the last update, and that means plenty of movement. There are some new clubs on the list as a result of promotions, and they're showing #N/A in the comparison columns. There are also some FFA Cup qualification games in 2017 that I haven't included, which will have a small impact, but this is pretty close.

Blacktown City ahead of two A-League Clubs and an impressive rise by APIA, really happy to see them in the Rnd of 32, hopefully a big televised clash at a packed Lambert Park.

A visual look at the FFA Cup Round of 32 fixtures based on the ELO ratings. Pick of the games for me are: - Brisbane vs Victory - if you're after a competitive game between two quality sides, this is the game of the round - Moreton Bay vs Broadmeadow Magic - ranked 46th and 44th, it should be a very close game, and has the added benefit of being close enough for me to watch live - South Melbourne vs Edgeworth - might not draw a huge crowd, but based on results in the last few seasons Edgeworth are in the top 20 clubs in the country and will be a real test for South. This is the pick of the games not to feature an A-League club for me. - Blacktown City vs Central Coast - If we're looking for a Cupset in this round, it might be this one if Mariners can get a win :). Blacktown currently ranked 9th and Mariners 11th... You have to feel for Darwin Rovers. ELO calcs give them a 0.3% chance of getting anything out of the game against Sydney.

Matches 10 and 12 will give a good indication of where NNSW actually is on a match up level (being away from home of course).
Also 7 is one to watch.

I think match 14 will be interesting - Blacktown City vs Mariners. Blacktown at home - decent NPL side, playing mariners who are rebuilding and were one of the lesser sides in the A-league last season. Mariners to win but Blacktown will give them a few scares.

City do ridiculously well in knock out cups and playing at home, the Mariners will enjoy an even longer off season

It's a shame Darwin Rovers drew an A-Leagie club again, denying much of a State Vector loss for the NT. It will be nice when they finally get to their real positions. There's no way Hellenic should be #23
