Vietnam beat Cambodia by 3 so the goal difference could end up being quite important.

Goal from free kick. 5-1
Poor positioning from the keeper.

+x4-1 All our chances are coming from hitting the ball through to the winger who plays it behind their defence who are abysmal at tracking back. Tap in for the strikers each time. They are playing an offside trap but when it does not work they seem to just stand there and let 3, 4, 5 players in behind. We are getting caught offside sometimes but I am not sure why we are pushing it, they are not going back with the ball so might as well make sure of being onside by a couple of metres, it will not make any difference in this game.

8-1
I think they've given up the offside trap strategy but it's not making much difference.
I know that goal difference is a factor in these tournaments, but so is fitness. We always run out of gas at these things so I'd be subbing our best 3 players out now.

Despite the scoreline, the real winners today were the linesmen.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

From what I saw, which was far from the whole match, Mongolia were absolutely shockingly bad, could not defend. However I thought the Australia's defense did not look convincing when Mongolia did get forward.

However I thought the Australia's defense did not look convincing when Mongolia did get forward. yeah the old curriculum neglected defence because Hans believed technique on the ball was the most important thing to front load and everything else can be learnt when an adult the new one has argued that technique in 1v1 defence is just as important. There should be gradual improvements over the next few years What I'm crying out for is specialist finishing training at a young age for strikers wingers and CAMs

Thanks for the link playmaker- Still too early to tell how this will all play out. Defenders weren't really challenged by their last opponent. So tomorrow's gave will provide more insight

Seen the highlights of the game, gee the game for youth level was of low quality.
The Aussies had alot of time and space on the ball to make their passes and still missed many opportunities due to their poor off the ball runs, as a result, they got caught offside more than Pippo Inzaghi's whole career!
Need far tougher tests to gauge where this group is at.

I'd forgotten this was on so I just looked through the comments and we've have 15 chances for 0 goals in the first half. I wonder whether the person typing up the comments has a dedicated key for "Off target".

Why is finishing and even the final pass so poor at all levels?
Its de-ja-vous again from a fortnight ago with the Socceroos.
