Yeah more recently it’s been people calling for Vuka and Birraz to start ahead of Maty - I don’t think Langerak even makes the squad in most people’s eyes these days.
So many Maty h8rs. Just support our EPL product, guys.

Here here Bowden. A lot of negativity at the minute. I obviously know we’re not where we were at with the golden gen but I’m happy at the moment with where players are at. Ange’s tactics etc are another debate but I think the Roos will be just fine. Even look at hrustic, seems to be starting week in week out these days in a good league. Same with Mabil. The list goes on. Keep up the good work lads! Makes it fun waking up in the mornings checking LiveScore app to see who’s done what

+xjackson irvine cant get game time. that is probably the saddest thing. i dont get it actually he played full games against reading and preston for hull. First game back from internationals you often miss unless you are so crucial to the team they can't drop you

https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/416166/3760806/The Ipswich forum believes it's only a matter of time until he's with the senior team. Apparently he's scored in all but one of the U23 games this season (8 goals in 6 games).

Ipswich have good depth in strikers. The game Folami made the bench they had two up front and played a striker on each wing as well. Because they are playing the strikers on the wing maybe he could get on the bench again, however, they seem to have changed to playing only 1 up front in some recent games which hurts his chances.

It's a full 24 hour trip back most of the time and our players often aren't near 100% by game day (depending on the day). This is why european coaches fucking hate our NT

Can he play on the wings as well? It would be nice to see this kid along with John Iredale and John Roberts step up as senior players and push for Socceroo selection in the future , the consensus with the national team is we need quality up top real badly.

+xCan he play on the wings as well? It would be nice to see this kid along with John Iredale and John Roberts step up as senior players and push for Socceroo selection in the future , the consensus with the national team is we need quality up top real badly. One of Folami's goals that I've seen was a solo run down the wing and then cutting inside to score, so there's a chance he could play out there for sure. I hope so. Imagine someone like that for the national team! Also, speaking of John Iredale, I found this article in Dutch (written by a journalist/blogger that covers football in Heerenveen) and it bodes pretty well for him: https://sportworldinside.wordpress.com/2017/10/12/ster-van-de-toekomst-heerenveens-john-iredale/#more-1595Translated below: STAR OF THE FUTURE: HEERENVEEN'S JOHN IREDALE "Heerenveen and forwards look like a golden combination. The list of successful strikers is very long. From Afonso Alves to Gerald Sibon and from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to Mark Uth. The strikers all went great at Heerenveen and they all earned a transfer to a bigger club. Meanwhile there is a new gem in Friesland, John Iredale. Iredale came to Heerenveen in the last week of the transfer period. The attacker was unknown to the general public, and the supporters did not immediately see the point of picking up the forward from Australia. Heerenveen has two good forwards with Reza Ghoochannejhad and Henk Veerman for the first selection. The Australian was therefore not immediately picked up for the first selection. The eighteen-year-old forward first joined the Under 19 Frisian team. The attacker scored four goals in his first four games, starting with a flying start. For the attacker to score, of course, the scouts knew for a long time. In Australia he scored seventeen goals at Sydney FC in fourteen appearances with the Under 20 team. The fact that these are amazing figures also saw the striker was picked up at the first selection and here he scored four times. These figures were enough for Heerenveen to catch him. In the meanwhile he also made his first minutes for the senior team. In addition, he also trains a lot with this team. The fact that the attacker is already impressed is very handsome. The teenager went to the other side of the world to play football, because the Netherlands is still seen as one of the best football places in the world in other continents. The attacker wants to break through as soon as possible in the first team. If he continues to score goals, this will definitely happen."

Degenek starting against leaders Kashima. Big match, ACL spot up for grabs.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

+xDon't think anyone wants Langerak to start anymore, last season yes but not now. If Maty has become a very good shot-stopper, then he should be the second pick for goalkeeper (after Brad Jones) for the upcoming WCQs, imo. If not (as I suspect is probably the case), then my reservations remain the same. Brad Jones and Mitch Langerak (even without actual recent matches under his belt) are ahead of him. I speak for myself and don't expect a soul to agree with me on that. It may seem rough. But it's based on what has happened throughout their careers. However much more first-team experience Maty has, he still appears to have the same weaknesses which have been exploited by just about every opponent we have. Mitch Langerak can make big saves against world-class opponents (e.g. Bayern Munich). Yet to witness Maty do this. To his credit, he has every opportunity to do so, playing in the Premier League, so there's always hope. But on history, it's not encouraging. Unfortunately, football is not about who deserves what (for having played most recently). It's about who's best. Regardless of whether they play or not. Usually the best will been featuring a lot for their club sides. There are, however, exceptions. This is almost certainly such an instance. Not dissimilar to when Tom Rogic wasn't playing for Celtic at all but was hands down Australia's best (and it showed). If Maty had been in goals against Iraq, and everything outside that match staying the same, I reckon we'd have finished fourth in the group. Langerak kept us in that game (and it was still certainly not a flawless performance). I shudder to think what would have happened with Maty in goals for that match. But hey, I was completely wrong about Aaron Mooy. So here's hoping I'm completely wrong here given Ange probably wouldn't have Langerak in goals even if he was keeping week in, week out for Juventus.

I understand Langerak's shot stopping ability, but he hasn't had matches for a few months now, isn't familiar with the national team defence so really i don't think it is worth the risk. We know what happens when you don't have match sharpness and in fairness to Ryan he is keeping clean sheets now, made an incredible double save last week and is building form. He deserves the start now.
