+x+x+xDon't think anyone wants Langerak to start anymore, last season yes but not now. If Maty has become a very good shot-stopper, then he should be the second pick for goalkeeper (after Brad Jones) for the upcoming WCQs, imo. If not (as I suspect is probably the case), then my reservations remain the same. Brad Jones and Mitch Langerak (even without actual recent matches under his belt) are ahead of him. I speak for myself and don't expect a soul to agree with me on that. It may seem rough. But it's based on what has happened throughout their careers. However much more first-team experience Maty has, he still appears to have the same weaknesses which have been exploited by just about every opponent we have. Mitch Langerak can make big saves against world-class opponents (e.g. Bayern Munich). Yet to witness Maty do this. To his credit, he has every opportunity to do so, playing in the Premier League, so there's always hope. But on history, it's not encouraging. Unfortunately, football is not about who deserves what (for having played most recently). It's about who's best. Regardless of whether they play or not. Usually the best will been featuring a lot for their club sides. There are, however, exceptions. This is almost certainly such an instance. Not dissimilar to when Tom Rogic wasn't playing for Celtic at all but was hands down Australia's best (and it showed). If Maty had been in goals against Iraq, and everything outside that match staying the same, I reckon we'd have finished fourth in the group. Langerak kept us in that game (and it was still certainly not a flawless performance). I shudder to think what would have happened with Maty in goals for that match. But hey, I was completely wrong about Aaron Mooy. So here's hoping I'm completely wrong here given Ange probably wouldn't have Langerak in goals even if he was keeping week in, week out for Juventus. I understand Langerak's shot stopping ability, but he hasn't had matches for a few months now, isn't familiar with the national team defence so really i don't think it is worth the risk. We know what happens when you don't have match sharpness and in fairness to Ryan he is keeping clean sheets now, made an incredible double save last week and is building form. He deserves the start now. You have to pay that double-save. Fair's fair. Your case is very strong. And mine is weak. I freely admit it. But gut instinct is still that we'll concede goals which we oughtn't to concede. Some if it won't by Maty's fault as much as the defence. But a terrific shot-stopper will get there. I'm still sceptical he's better in that respect than Langerak. Even with Langerak's lack of games, I reckon the difference is still too big. I've seen Langerak play for Dortmund (without many first-team matches beforehand) and produce the goods. That, for mine, suffices. As I say, football is ruthless. Brad Jones deserves to start more than anybody. He won't (but should if you want the best result). Maty deserves to start much more than Langerak does. And Maty almost certainly will start. But he's just not strong enough in shot-stopping. Too often, it has been a case of us debating whether or not he could have done more. When the really decent goalkeepers will make you gasp. Mind you the double-save did make me gasp (particularly the follow-up).

Didnt bother reading past the 1st paragraph but if there was an award for biggest shit talker with an agenda on this forum you would win hands down. I'm ahead of some very illustrious company then. Thanks for the nomination :P

Scandalous penalty, Hibs come closer 1-2. Celtic panic stations. No doubt Rogic will come on soon.

Jeggo starting Edwards and Curran starting (against each other) Cleur back in squad
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Huddersfield are so weak in the fullback positions. Seems like nearly every attack has gotten through all season. They need to spend another 50 million to get some quality there and in the wing position. And they need to clone Mooy.

+xHow's Mooy playing (besides the goal)? Mooy's playing well. They hardly had the ball though. He seems to be the only Huddersfield player who can hold the ball. Although la parra came on and made a couple of good runs. Mooy did miss an easy pass and position himself poorly during a wide break when his team mate was behind him. Needed to check. Otherwise it's mostly just bpo structure play.
