+x+xBuhagiar looks the most likely of our young strikers to get game time in the A-League, even if he hasn't been too great when playing. Wouldn't he be ahead of Scott? Blackwood is playing and has scored 3 goals in 4 matches in qualifying. He has been holding the ball up well at times for Adelaide but has not scored. Ah yeah forgot about him, in for sure.

+x+xDidn't realise Degenek is only 23. Definitely got some time to develop more. Smith is also 23. Would be decent game time for him. My squad would be, in no particular order. Glover, Holmes, Izzo. Gersbach Tongyik Aspro Lyden Deng Chapman Burgess Elder Hrustic McGree A. O'Neill B. O'Neill Caletti Mauk Ikon Mabil Scott Borrello Popovic Kamau Ryan Williams will be 24 in 4 days. Connor Chapman and Brandon O'Neill are too old. The strongest would be something like Izzo, Glover, Holmes/NIzic/Margush Karacic, Burgess, Deng, Tongyik, Aspropomatis, Gersbach, Elder O'Neill, Lyden, McGree, Mauk, Caletti Mabil, Borrello, Hrustic, Ikonomidis, Kamau Popovic, Blackwood Feel a little bit weak in defence apart from LB where there is also Garuccio. Galloway could be another full back option. Probably 1 too many wingers but which one do you leave out, all would be in the top 23 players easily and Sotiro did well in qualifying and does not make this team. Yeah I checked a few ages but missed those guys. I just hope we go with a strong bunch and not a group of 20 year olds with few club commitments.

+xWill we be sending our strongest team with all the overseas players like Pasquali, Borrello, O'Neill, Mabil, Hrustic, Ikonomidis, Gersbach, Armenkas and others being considered for selection? Unfortunately as the comp is not during FIFA dates I doubt we'll get too many back from overseas.

I went for an A-League only edition: Skapetis Kamau - De Silva - Mauk Rose - Melling Garuccio - Deng - Tongyik - Galloway Izzo Subs: GK Glover, LB/RB Nigro, CB Aspro, DM Wilson, AM Clut, LW/RW Buhagiar, ST Blackwood
There weren't easy choices in a lot of places on the park.

Depends on who is available, based on the last squad i suspect it would be the similar names.
And maybe a couple of the overseas guys would be available too. First team: Reserves: -----------Glover------------- --------------------Margush-------------------
Nigro-----Aspro----Tongyik-----Jackson---- Cowburn-----Deng----Warland----Gersbach(If available otherwise someone like Rowles)
-------Mauk--------Caletti---------- --------------Wilson-------McGree-------------
Kamau------Brimmer--------Arzani------ Hrustic-------------Kalik-------------O'Doherty
--------------Blackwood--------- ---------------------Popovic---------------------
Im sure there are others too that could come in.

Good group of players for the 23's. The u20's are off to Vietnam next week so a good chance for the boys to maybe push up for a spot. Arzarni already in the 23's at 18 which is fantastic.

+xEngland played well against Brazil last night in the semi- final of the U17 World Cup. They are playing some good football. I watched the game with one thought in mind "holly shit" some real quality in both teams. The other thing that went through my mind was "how would our best u17's stack up against these". I think I know the answer unfortunately.

By the way England and Spain play in the final, both teams have got great talents. Jaidon Sancho who is at BVB had to leave the team in the group stages, i have a feeling we could be hearing his name very soon at the world stage.

Yes we did loose to Japan but there's no way that was our best squad. In saying this even with our best squad we would struggle against these teams. Japan drew with Brazil if I'm not mistaken.

I even said with our best squad imo we would struggle. But here's a few andony Martis, Dylan Ryan, mersim memeti, Andrew Vacigliou Jacob botic, Luke Bodnar, Nathan Prince and to top it off players like Lachlan Brook and Rami Najjarime didn't play. You could throw in Lucas Portelli and Nick Setti in also. Why don't you check out the squad that played Vietnam 10 months before beating them 1 /0 but dominated them.

What on earth are you talking about? Lachlan Brook and Ramy Najjarine (notice the correct spelling of the name, you must obviously be familiar with this player) were both at the AFC U16 Championship. Najjarine even played against Japan in the final game. Why don't you check out the squad properly before talking non sense.

Our best players were injured. Our European players were not available (how many of players from the so-called big European academies actually lead successful careers). Asian football pitches are terrible quality. The weather was humid. The opponents grass rolled. The referee was incompetent. Tournament was in the off season. List goes on and on.

Some news here, the young Matilda's missed out on the World Cup losing to China, and in the u17 World Cup final England beat Spain 5-2.
They have won both u17 and u20s in the same year! Quite a feat!
