+xYesterday's game: 11 | LIVE: FOOTBALL: A-LEAGUE BRI V CCM | FOX SPORTS 501 | 51,000 | An average of 51.75 on fox thus far this round if my calculations are correct...how does that compare to previous years in round 5?

I think at this time of year we are usually getting a bit higher and then it progressively goes down as we get deeper into the season.

this is why all of the bigger games need to be played on FTA. although admittedly, no other live on on TV Monday night probably helped the ratings a little.

Sat TV Fox on ONE 55k Another impressive set of ratings as a result of being on commercial TV The average is now 66k. Down 20k on last season despite Saturday night games and cross promotion So far we have seen 2 of the 3 lowest FTA figures ever recorded in the first 6 rounds. But that's OK because people haven't worked out how to find the telecast yet

Bluebird ,what you fail to realise is One is harder to find than SBS.So it makes sense ratings are falling.LOL.On Foxtel One doesn't appear on the first page ,whereas SBS does. I wonder if HAL will still be on live on One come round 23? Probably on at 1am. But then FFA will start their advertising campaign so everything will be fine. Why don't stakeholders sack these clowns? The reason ratings are down is nobody is interested in watching the same ten teams play each other over and over and over again.Nobody knows the HAL is on or is enticed to watch it because there is no advertising.
The HAL is fast becoming the Sheffield Shield of Football.Only tragics know its on and the rest are happy to read about the results and have a life, because they don't feel like they are missing anything.

After 13 years, we know what our natural level is. It's much better than basketball, a bit better than rugby, not as strong as the major winter codes, but it's still good enough.

+xOn Foxtel One doesn't appear on the first page ,whereas SBS does So what? Why would people with Foxtel watch the game on SBS? And what about the 70% of the population who don't have Foxtel? These "don't know about it" excuses are pretty poor The A League has been around for 13 years. It hits the media 2-3 times a week for most of the year. It has also had high profile players, matches, and friendlies. If somebody doesn't know about the A League its because they have zero interest in the sport, or no interest outside of the national teams. For those who have an interest in the league anywhere else on the spectrum, you would think they would have asked the question "where do I watch the games" instead of just stupidly assume the A League isn't broadcasted. "Gee Id love to watch the A League but damned if I know how to find it" It has been on FTA for over four years Its nice to think the problem our code faces is simply a case of "not knowing about it" but that's just a cop out. It also leads to putting resources into the wrong area. Why not spend $3m to $5m national "help a mate find channel one" campaigns? The majority of people, even football fans, do not give a fuck about the A League. That's the cold hard reality of it. We can jump from channel to channel but it doesn't address the actual issue 3 years ago the numbers were about 150k-175k (plus Fox). Now it is significantly lower. Either half the FTA audience found another means to follow the game when SBS dumped the coverage to SD or they have walked away from the game for good (less likely). Not only that but now attendance numbers are also dropping and even Fox ratings Fix the A League, and you'll see a fix in the FTA ratings. It really is that simple Once the A League has been fixed, no one platform is more visible than the other as far as FTA goes. A myth I thought would have been well and truly busted by now but try telling a 3 year old Santa isn't real

Bluebird take a chill pill,i wasnt serious Lol Its very clear that the rise and fall of ratings is primarily to do with the product .After five seasons of Big Brother for example ,people get bored and start to change channels. For the HAL,initially on SBS there was interest, which waned the second yearand plummeted after that. The fact its on One now hasnt changed anything.People are still getting more bored and tuning in less and less. The sad thing is the previously unviewable games ,without Foxtel(Derbies). produced no lift at all.People continue to be be bored and tune off. Meanwhile back at the ranch on Foxtel.Football tragics still tune in most of the time. But even some of them ,like me find other things to do.
Metrics Metrics Metrics..thats the problem.Accountants managing Event businesses.People arent interested in metrics, they want entertainment ,excitement and new things. At the moment HAL cant offer anything new.Just Same Same but the .Same
Like any boring show on tv,HAL is sliding in ratings.Time for a major drama or a wedding or death .LoL......FIFA have just the answer.

The cricket 1-2 punch of ashes/big bash league this summer will put the A league to bed. Might as well write this season off.
