Sydney Derby must have rated ok and it was a semi. i read 55k for the derby 22k for bentleigh vs adelaide So FFA cup isn't really making any strides ahead which is a bit of a concern. A-league also not looking good this season. In for a long season ahead. FFA cup is still more of a tournament for purists. casual suppers don't give a crap about it.

+xSBS have just announced they will be screening some of the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana. I'll be interested to see how these competitions rate here in Australia. Usually the matches are on around 9-10 in the morning and you can sometimes get a stream with Spanish or Portuguese commentary. I reckon they will rate well for the Colo-Colo matches in particular. There's one on this morning.

+xAny ratings for the latest FFA cup game with Victory losing? I'd guess and say similar to last weeks numbers. There isn't a great deal of FFA Cup promotion/advertising the week leading in. For example, I had mates (Victory members) that didn't know the game was on.

At first I also thought the same, but then again all he has done is compared football at its highest level to AFL at its highest level. So I guess it isn't a totally unfair comparison.

I would have expected more, but 1am Sunday night/Monday morning guess we can't complain too much. There is well over 100,000 Croatians or Australians with Cro heritage in Aus. Vast majority would have been watching.
