+x@Davide82 That’s nice. So would you accept Adelaide United being called “Dads Army” then lol?? The ironies in that are of course the two oldest men on the pitch were responsible for the win last week and the oldest team in the competition is running away with it 😂Honestly, internet trolls ... Nope because our oldest players on the park were Gulum and Adlung who are both 30. Yes, you won coz of two horrible errors and I don't think playing as many kids as we do is going to win anyone a title but you can't just make things up to prove your point.

You forgot Johan Absalonsen = 32, Michael Marrone = 30, Isaías = 30, though the first two were subs at around the 50 minute mark.

Damn it Mr. B, now you’ve ruined a good rant.
And what was someone saying about “making stuff up to prove your point”??
Honestly, you can’t make the stuff up on this forum sometimes 😂

I could continue and you can get me on semantics and nit picking but Waz is infamous for posting bullshit disguised as fact and is a genuinely infuriating insanely one-eyed sook. YOu are not. The "fact" that Brisbane are the only team playing young players is demonstrably wrong and he knows it. That's what makes him frustrating. Whether i left out 2 starting players from my list does not change that fact.

Waz probably should have said Brisbane Roar are one of the few that regularly start young players, I can understand his frustration though since most of the same old jokes are about the Dads army. It is funny in a way that Sydney Fc have the oldest starting 11 side this season but don't get the same dads army remarks, I guess when you are winning people will ignore it more as opposed to a team down the bottom of the ladder.

If they can beat WSW and Sydney then I will eat some humble pie and say well done John Aloisi, I hope some how they manage to pull it off but I am highly doubtful, a win against WSW is doable though.

It is funny in a way that Sydney Fc have the oldest starting 11 side this season but don't get the same dads army remarks, I guess when you are winning people will ignore it more as opposed to a team down the bottom of the ladder. I knew you weren't having a go. All good. Most of the schtick yBrisbane are getting is firstly because of Maccarone, who might be scoring a few chances but far out he couldn't walk after 50 minutes, I was genuinely shocked seeing him live. But also your predicted starting lineup at the start of the season WAS old and people haven't forgotten. Several players were not just over 30 but over 33 (North, Mckay, Kristensen, Holman, Maccarone, khalfalla) and the tag has stuck. You are now forced to play young players because the older players are broken. Couple that with the fact you guys play horrible horrible football this season and are lucky to not be last. As you say, when you're winning people don't mind so much. So yeah Sydney won't cop it as they are top by a mile but also because average age (that waz bangs on about) doesn't tell the whole story either. A 38 year old Maccarone and a 19 year old Caletti (just as an example playing thanks to an injured 34year old Kristensen) is an average age of 28ish. A 32 year old Bob and a 24 year old Brillante is the same average age and I know which 2 I would choose if I was choosing purely on age.

@ Mr. B.
A win against Wanderers is more than “doable” wouldn’t you say?
They’re a team out of form, missing several key players and operating under a new coach & system and playing away from home.
Aloisi has to target this as a must win, if he can’t get a win today the top 6 is likely out of sight and then he turns round to face SFC and Jets away.
It’ll be tough because it’s wanderers but man, he needs to win tonight and his teams performance needs to reflect that.

I just expect us to naturally lose the next game after a great team performance, minus McKay  I think Aloisi coming out and saying the reds win will be a turning point might jinx them, it didn't need to be said. Take the win, momentum and show it on the field don't say it before hand as it just sets you up to fail.

@ Mr. B
I recon that comment by Aloisi is a window in to the squads mentality, they feel “unlucky” and results are more about bad luck than what the team did on the paddock mid-week or during the game.
The trouble with “luck” is it always tends to be illusiive, more so when you go looking for it and I always felt Ange’s team never really need it (even though they got enough of it lol).
So let’s see, they need to come out firing from the get-go. Come Monday it’s likely Bautheac, Holman and Bowles are good to go and for next weekend he should have Mckay, Avraam and possibly Franjic back. No excuses then.

I was just being cheeky, but to your question about why don’t Sydney get called Dad’s Army, I think it’s because their oldest players are around the 32/33 mark which whilst old feels ok.
Brisbane’s players aged between 34-38 are next-level old so it just looks funny.

I don't think I ever been so disheartened with the Roar.
I just see no future in this squad. Not an absolute as Jamie young and a few defensive player are there. But literally all of our attacking players there is nothing there. I have no connection to them. I don't want any of them next season.
Aloisi should have been gone a month ago so the new coach can clean out the squad and get some players in January.
It's a bunch of individuals out there.

As was said earlier, this was the game to win and out in a decent performance. Stuffed it up completely.
SFC and Jets next up.

I'm just so sick of excuses because it comes down to fitness and training which is square on aloisi. The transfer in of old and injury prone players. Our solid players of yesteryear are one year older you can see it. Fkb blowing up the staff and player who was clearly concussed. Poor disaplin in the side with leaders doing stupid fouls and action. I'm glad the crowd booed Aloisi during the game. We can't take this shit.

Most unbalanced squad you’d ever see, all either over 30 or under 23. Too many ‘squad players’ and no goal scorers. A third of the squad with virtually no game time at this level. I’m with lolitsbigmic, i.e. zero interest till Aloisi is gone and someone comes in to set a new course.

Adam Peacock did a great tweet last night on Roars “unavailable XI”:
Theo Franjic North Papdopolous O’Toole McKay Caletti Kristensen D’Agostino Holman Bautheac
It’s an absolute disaster for the football department made worse by out worst-ever disciplinary record with two out suspended and two more one card away from being suspended.
The problem is this gives JA an excuse to hide behind, accountability for a disasterous season is being passed on to “being unlucky”, “poor refereeing and VARs” and “injuries”.
Even with all the financial crisis, I can’t remember the club being at such a low point.

He can tell his next prospective employer how unlucky he was and how if he had a fit squad it could lead them to a title (which is bullshit). Hopefully the next club he signs for knows not to leave him in charge of recruitment.

@ Maxxie.
I tend to agree with you there, there may not be a next club mind you - after Heart and this who would take the chance?
I think I’d be calling up Fox and seeing if there was a career in media ...

JA needs to be given a good squad and hope he can win before natural entropy leads to him dismantling the squad and leaving it a basket case. Compare that to Gombau who comes in mid season and knows what he wants and does it.Gets rid of players that dont fit and after a handfull of games already is producing a brand of football that fits his philiosophy. Meanwhile back at Roar..........
