That's pretty much his Australian form. Bit harsh tho his played ok for huddlefield. I wonder if his position might come under threat with that new signing and I'm hearing grujic from Liverpool heading there on loan. Good player too

Pritchards more of a winger/no 10...Mooy runs the show... Aaron literally just needs one more midfielder who can pass the ball.. he can't do it all himself lol.

He's the managers favourite, very much doubt barring a horrendous turn for the worst will he ever be dropped.

"Mooy copping some flak on the Huddersfield forum. A few fans calling for him to be dropped, stating he is out of form, slows down counter attacks, and provides rubbish set pieces etc. "

Sounds like he is in his Socceroos form.

This is a very tough period in England, games every few days while pressing a lot, he is probably knackered like the rest of them.

Barnsley have handed a trial to an Australian footballer, according to a reliable journalist.

Respected football journalist Alan Nixon has revealed via his personal Twitter account that Barnsley have taken an Australian player who is based in Norway on a trial ahead of a possible move.

Paul Heckingbottom is assessing his options this January and could look to strengthen his squad if there is a potential deal on the table.

With an under-23 fixture lined up today against Portsmouth at 2pm, it was thought that the mystery trialist could be given a run in the side but he has not featured in the line-up for this clash.

There are not many Australian players who are based in Norway and a quick look at the top two divisions in the Scandinavian country show that there are only two players who fit the bill.

AdTech Ad

The first is Luc Jeggo – a midfielder playing for Floro SK in the second tier of Norwegian football.

The other option, which is more likely, is Alex Gersbach.

The 4-cap Australian international is playing top flight football in Norway with Rosenborg BK, where he has been since his 2014 switch from Sydney.

The 20-year-old is a promising left back.

The Verdict

Luc Jeggo is an unknown quantity and therefore, if it is him, then a trial period would be best for Barnsley to take a look at him. If it is Gersbach, then they have one of Australia’s hottest prospects potentially teaming up with Heckingbottom. At the age of 20, he is likely to be an understudy for Zeki Fryers at first if he does come in but he has experience of playing in Australia and Norway so England is his next step in his career.

Barnsley fans – Would you like to sign Jeggo or Gersbach? Let us know below…

Go for it. Better to be on the bench there than in Norway. But certainly potential.

Not as succesful as RBK but would certainly have as much and probably more pressure on him from fans and media, which is good.

Gersbach is in China so it can't be him.

I cant see the tweet, so he may have gone before China or be going after.

But yeah could be Jeggo also, if true.

Yeah man. I thought the lower sides on the table haven't really dealt with the aftermath of new years & Christmas that well.
All the top teams and middle half usuals have taken to it like pig in shit. With Bournemouth beating friggn Arsenal & shit.
Both Brighton and Hudders got hammered, then there's the ultra unusual Liverpool thrashing City.
Could even be that the pitches were all shit ? Did look a tad wet around England
West Brom there's another one who won despite being relegation bait.

They desperate for some wingers/forwards.. god.. I'd love to see Leckie at hudders...hes built for the premier league.

They couldn't even feed Van La Parra again this game. Mooy is not a left sided player, actually scratch that I think La Parra got marked closely. stupid to say Mooy can't play on the left, we watch it week in week out.
I saw him wandering over that side but he did look uncomfortable getting it anywhere through there. Right side Kechunga works a lot harder. You could see Vagner pondering why the fuck nothing was working, I suspect perhaps he realises that teams have worked it out now and nothing is going to help except I suppose if he puts La Parra on that right side. Kinda shits me he never thought of this 2 games straight. I have definitely seen La Parra operate way better on the right wing before. He has quite quick feet and can be silky as shit/impressive when he's on

Yeah Leckie @ Brighton is also lip licking

gossip from Barnsley forum

Good article that. Clearly an intelligent and articulate young man with a real drive to play regularly.

No idea what he’s like as a player but Australia aren’t a really poor team any more, and Rosenberg are a fairly big team in Norway so must have something about him at 20.

Would love to see Gersbach in the Championship. The league has been very good to our Socceroos these past few years. Everyone’s getting gametime there.

It would seem odd for a capped Socceroo to agree to a trial, especially one already at as big a club as Rosenborg, and the fact that he is indeed in China right now with the Olyroos certainly points to the possibility of it being Jeggo Jr, despite what that journo was told? Who knows.

makes it easier for us to judge where he is on the scale too having seen so many boys in the same league.. I think he would do well in England.

Gersbach would have been a great singing for my beloved Leeds even on loan as we were using Berardi at left back because we basically never replaced Taylor.

Gersbach plays a lot like Taylor did and would have been a like for like replacement with plenty of potential. Too late now though we've signed a bloke named de bock or similar :(

Awesome news. They're now actually closer to the playoffs (8 points) than the drop (13 points).

In light of the news about Ryan Giggs, I think it would be fantastic to see Kewell at the world cup as an assistant to whoever gets the role even if he just goes back to his club..seeing him on the coaches bench surely gives the players a boost.

I agree. Even if it's not a very central role, it would be fantastic for his development as a coach and I think he'd also be a really good influence on the players. Just depends on what the coach wants.

Does anyone know what style Kewell is playing at CT? How much he would get out of a WC role might be influenced by his tactical similarity to the coach we get.
