It's not a great period for several important Socceroos. Ryan conceding lots and losing. Mooy playing poorly and losing. Rogic and Jedinak with significant injuries. Cahill can't find a club. Irvine dropped to the bench in the championship. Not ideal.

Irvine was brought on after 68min but they lost 1:0 to Sunderland. 

Form is concerning for Mooy. Let's hope it's that phenomenon where he's on fire for the national team but average at club level. I've not seen the Huddersfield match. It's a team sport after all.

i would say the first half of football - by both teams - was possibly the worst football ive ever seen in a big league in europe.

stoke came together after the goal. hudders improved mildly after a couple subs and a shift to 442.  i dont see how hudders can expect to survive relegation if they are playing like that after half a season together in this league. they have some real passengers on that team.

aside from giving the ball away which led to a break and a goal, mooy wasn't too bad. he was not that involved, but he was also just not passed the ball very much. i really think they need to be playing a midfield of billing and hogg doing the donkey work with mooy in the #10 ahead of them in the triangle. they need to control the midfield better. tom ince also should not be in the starting 11.

Will any club offer £10mil (or even make a bid period) for such an injury prone player?

No one would pay 10 million for rogic.

Nine players secure moves to Spain in Saudi Arabia and La Liga partnership

The Saudi Arabia and La Liga partnership has benefited nine Saudi internationals, who join different Spanish clubs on loan deals until the end of the season.

Saudi Arabia and La Liga partnership was signed in October 2017. Under the agreement, Saudi players would move to the either of the top two Spanish leagues over the January transfer window.

Saudi Arabia is also expected to gain from technical assistance coming from their partner country. Spain, on the other hand, will gain more ground on popularity in the Middle East region.

The partnership was signed off by Saudi Arabia’s General Sports Authority, Saudi Arabia Football Association and La Liga – who run the La Liga and Segunda Division.

Nooh Al Mousa (Real Valladolid), Salem Al Dawsari (Villareal), Fahad Al-Muwallad (Levante), Abdullah Alhamddan (Sporting Gijon) and Yahia Al-Shehri (CD Leganes) have moved to Spain, from the Saudi Pro league, on half-season loan deals. Others are Abdulmajeed Al Sulaiheem (Rayo Vallecano), Ali Al Namer (Numancia), Marwan Othman (Leganes ‘B’) and Gaber Mostafa (Villareal ‘B’)

Yahia Al-Shehri, 27, is the most experienced of the lot. He has 51 caps for Saudi Arabia and formerly played for Al Nassr. The nine players were picked after scouting by the respective Spanish clubs

The Saudi Arabia and La Liga partnership is expected to help the country prepare for the 2018 World Cup. Saudi Arabia will play Egypt in their final group match at the World Cup.
