I think SFC are a pretty good team. However they have dominated the A-league for the last 2 seasons primarily because the refs love them, VAR loves them and FFA loves them. They are in reality about the same as Newcastle this year or Victory last year. I think last nights refs proved that. It just goes to show you how a bit of bias from the officials can make a big difference.

sydney has better foreigners then the rest of the A league, these foreigners dominate teams single handedly. Koreans do homework on these foreigners, Koreans man mark them out of the game, koreans win easily. It's not rocket science. As I said last night the only surprising thing was that suwon actually ran over them and looked fitter, I was expecting some sort of Sydney onslaught late in the game but nothing happened.

They've gotten really good at beating the same 9 teams over and over again for 2 years.

Victory have been average and they nearly won their game on Tuesday night. I don’t think form matters when you play these games

I think its more that the other a-league teams are shite. You don't lose just 2 games in 2 years because of VAR. Sydney is way, way ahead of any other a-league team. To be honest, the ACL is refreshing to finally have a challenge again.

There will be teams playing in u12s leagues that have similar stats and dominance to SFC. But when they play against an U16s team they will struggle
The ACL is not a playground for dividing the best players equally to keep bored fans less bored. It is a competitive league where the concentration of the best talent in Asian nations play against one another
SFC were completely out of their depth. I picked it during the Liverpool game when they were dismantled but some people here just figured SFC were having an off night and weren't trying. And yet once again we see them completely dismantled by a team in their preseason who only really turned it on for 20-30 minutes
Prepare for 5 more off nights

Hopefully these things do become a catalyst for change at FFA in regards to the salary cap and trying to produce young players with such a small professional league and no 2nd tier. We need to start competing globally, not with Australian domestic sports.

I've been saying it for years, the HAL is not in competition with the AFL and NRL. It is in competition with football. Globally.
The sooner the FFA realise this, the sooner they can start restructuring football properly.
Just look at the Victory crowd the other night. It's not marketing or any other BS that keeps fans away from ACL games. Notwithstanding MVs poor form, our fans have simply come to the decision that they won't fork out their hard earned to watch our biggest clubs try to play with their hands tied behind their backs against Asian opposition that would laugh at the idea of salary caps and transfer fee bans.
We can't compete with the best whilst our best aren't allowed to compete fairly.

The bias for SFC continues. How much do the refs love them. Seriously enough is enough with being the refs pets. Do they ever get a bad VAR call? When SFC wins ther supports say you are being a sore loser about bringing this topic up. If it before a match SFC fans say you are getting your excuses really. Well SFC had the ref in their pocket on the weekend, they lost so now is the time to call out the SFC bias. Time to move VAR out and FFA headquarters out of Sydney. It needs to go to Canberra or to Melbourne which will soon be the largest city in Australia.

Surely if we’ve been paying off everyone for the last two seasons we wouldn’t just stop them? The delusion in this place is utterly hilarious And yeah as above we lost the best player the leagues seen the best goal scorer the leagues ever seen, the best A-League coach and a top quality centre back.

You do not have to pay people for them to be bias. Nobody is suggesting SFC have being paying for anything. The bias comes from FFA being so Sydney centered. This is why we created Canberra. Sydney people are just too high on themselves to be in control.

Sorry mate the conspiracy doesn’t add up Even Sydney fans have to admit that they generally get the refereeing decisions in their favour in recent times. No conspiracy theory here, Sydney have just been very lucky with the referees recently.

If your theory was true Victorys penalty would be over turned but it wasnt. Also we havent started with the same force as prior seasons. Must mean our grip in the VAR is weakening. But keep digging in this is massively amusing. +x+xAgain that doesn’t answer why the conspiracy has suddenly stopped or why it would start again. To think all our success is just because of VAR and officials gives me a fantastic laugh.

Wheres the relevance? If we moved it west would wanderers suddenly find form. Surely the conspiracy line would have to be the FFA is directly funding a Victory player so obviously that means they and VAR are going to be giving all the calls to get a good return on investment and FFA/VAR being in Sydney is just a smoke screen. Youre a sheeple whose fallen for the diversion!

No Im saying it was but if there was a VAR pro-Sydney conspiracy and thats the only reason we get results, then VAR would have overturned a deadset penalty against Sydney FC in a game against their biggest rival

The way bias works (if you believe in it), is that, in footballs case, the referee will sway to a certain team in 50/50 type calls, calls which won't raise eyebrows easily, or like the 1st penalty, while soft as jelly, you could "explain your way out of it" as being a possible penalty, even though really, it wasn't, it was a player falling over on the lightest shoulder touch. When something is blatant, and a stone cold decision to 99% of people and the laws of the game, they have to call it, or else it will start talks of actual conspiracies, bribes and favouritism ect.

@RedKat Best if you stop talking before you make that hole you are digging even bigger. FFA and VAR need to be out of Sydney. SFC need some rotten calls against them before seasons end.

Lets see how SFC fair in an unbiased competition like the ACL and compare that to how MV go.
