+x+xShanghai Shenhua finished 11th in the CSL table last year compared to SIPG finished 2nd. You can tell the difference in quality between the 2. I doubt a team outside Europe has two players like Hulk and Oscar. Is Shanghai in Europe now?

+xok smartarses what's a "blood and thunder contest" sure, had to look it up. It does reference football though. blood and thunder 1. informal unrestrained and violent action or behaviour. "a typical blood-and-thunder cup tie"

+xok smartarses what's a "blood and thunder contest" It's just another widely used English expression but means more like full on, blood and guts or balls and all etc

This has Shanghai 93rd minute winner written all over it.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

A- league is definitely good enough, salary cap and all. It's a disgrace Sydney FC didn't win.

So Sydney has 48 hours from when they land to the derby. Will anyone contain Arnold's head from exploding from egotistical comments if they win.

Feel sorry for Calver.Talk about thrown in the deep end. I can see why Brillante didnt make it in Italy. He just has to many mistakes in him. All in all FC would have to be happy with that. But I cant see them getting through to the next round. That defence with the keeper looks shakier than the shaky isle across the ditch. Arnold made a massive miscalculation with his backline formthe AFC or a certain person who pulled the pin at the last moment has stuffed things up and killed off any chance FC had.

Disagree. On the basis on that game I feel we have every chance of making the next round. Calver improved tonight as the game went on. Hopefully he'll improve with game time.

You do have every chance obviousy, but it does now rely on you winning at the very least 1 of the 3 games against Kashima and Suwon.
