+xOut of curiosity - do suspensions from Cup games in other countries usually result in League bans? I know I could google it but someone surely knows. Seems weird to me. When Ronaldo pushed the ref in the Spanish Super Cup he served his ban by missing league games. Does happen I guess.

Hoping the parents also apologised for the behaviour of their son. But knowing a lot of parents these days they'd be finding excuses that their child couldn't possibly do anything worng.

Lakoseljic Cup Preliminary Round
Burnie v Ulverstone Launceston United v Taroona Nelson v Hobart United Metro v Riverside University v Beachside Southern FC v New Town Eagles.
By the looks of it the six winners here will join the 8 NPL clubs and last seasons premiers of the Northern and Southern Championships in the round of 16.

Hold out for the Wikipedia page to be constructed as it's far more quicker and reliable. As for the fixtures go to football federation Tasmania and football Brisbane. They have the streams on their FB pages.

Should this page technically not start up until the round of 32. I always view it in the state league section

Even back then VFL was huge. It's easy to see why migrants went toward AFL and RL in other states. It's more glamorous plus they got their sugar hit from touring teams and this the Eurosnob is born.

Melbournes population was under 1 million in 1946 and they got 73k for the VFL GF. That's around 1 in 14 people in the city were at the game. You can see it was all consuming.

Record South Australian FFA Cup soccer entries after state allocated just one national phase berth Premier League preview: Challengers and champs ready to go A RECORD number of South Australian FFA Cup entries has raised hopes the state will increase its future representation in the national phase of the knockout competition. SA was again allocated just one berth in the round-of-32 for this year’s cup, despite the number of clubs nominating for the state-based preliminary rounds increasing from 42 to 53. The Football Federation Australia ruling left the state with the same allocation of slots as smaller associations Tasmania, ACT and Northern Territory, and one less than Northern NSW. Football Federation SA chief executive Michael Carter was unhappy with the decision, which was based on total player registration numbers and FFA Cup entries in each state. But Carter said SA had grounds to push for more national cup spots in the future, following the affiliation of SA Amateur Soccer League clubs under the FFSA umbrella. “Football Federation SA has had it confirmed by the FFA that no movement will be made in terms of South Australia’s allocation of slots for the (FFA) Cup,” Carter said. “We are very disappointed with this outcome. “But there is no doubt that stronger representation in the competition (preliminary rounds) builds a case for greater (national) representation from South Australia.” The SAASL signed a landmark agreement with FFSA in October, ending an two-decade divide between the governing bodies. It opened the door for amateur clubs to enter the FFA Cup for the first time and boosted SA’s player participation numbers from about 25,000 to 30,000. Ten SAASL side’s had so far entered this year’s competition, including traditional powerhouses Elizabeth Downs, Parafield Gardens and Elizabeth Vale. Fellow amateur clubs Adelaide Pumas, BOSA, Brahma Lodge, Ghan Kilburn City, Pontian Eagles, Prince Alfred and Salisbury Inter had also nominated. Carter hoped more SAASL teams would sign up before Monday’s deadline. “I am pleased to report that the partnership has been positively received by the football family,” Carter said. “An increase in numbers is an obvious benefit. “The opportunity for previously non-affiliated clubs to participate in national competitions is also a major benefit. “This is very much a work in progress.” Downs striker Matt Watson said the northern suburbs club was looking forward to testing itself against semi-professional outfits such as SA cup holder MetroStars. Watson, last year’s Sunday Premier Division joint-top goalscorer, said it was an opportunity to add to the reigning league and amateur cup winner’s success. “For years there has been debate on the strength of the amateur league compared to the FFSA so this is a great opportunity for the club to gauge where we are at,” Watson, 26, said. “You see giant killers knocking off much higher grade opposition in the (English) FA Cup every year, so it definitely gives the club the hunger to do well and cause some upsets.” http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/football/local-soccer-sa/record-south-australian-ffa-cup-soccer-entries-after-state-allocated-just-one-national-phase-berth/news-story/6d7ca83aa9e1c3287eed087640d2b274
