You would think his wage demands wouldn't be too high. We certainly could do worse!

Had an annual salary of 500,000 euros when he signed for AEK Athens mid 2016.
I certainly wouldn't mind him at the club, but that kind of money needs to be spent elsewhere if we already have our starters in the positions he plays.

He's a CAM. Exactly what we need.

You'd think if he's under the cap he'd be one of the largest earners. Maybe 300-350k.

Fair enough. Everything I can find online and what I've seen has him playing on the wing.

An add SBS story, “odd” because of the very last paragraph lol:

Brisbane Roar want the coaching mentor behind Graham Arnold’s transformation with Sydney FC to help John Aloisi next season.

UPDATEDUPDATED 12 HOURS AGO
BY JOHN DAVIDSON

Bradley Charles Stubbs, nicknamed the ‘Coach Whisperer’, worked with Arnold and the Sky Blues for the past two seasons when the club won back-to-back Premiers’ Plates, a grand final and the FFA Cup.

The mind coach previously worked with Michael Maguire when South Sydney Rabbitohs won the 2014 NRL grand final, as well as Wallabies coach Michael Cheika during the 2015 Rugby World Cup and English rugby union boss Eddie Jones during the 2016 Six Nations.

Now the Roar want Queensland-based mentor Stubbs to assist Aloisi for the 2018-2019 A-League campaign.

The World Game understands the Roar have approached Stubbs through an intermediary about working with the 42-year-old.

While Stubbs said he has had no formal discussions with Brisbane, he confirmed they are not the only A-League club interested in his services.

Brisbane Roar Melbourne City John Aloisi A-League
'We're already building for next season' - Aloisi says Roar will improve
“I have had phone calls with two A-League coaches that want to work with me,” he told The World Game.

“But I’m in the UK at the moment because I’ve had interest from three English Premier League clubs. I’m looking for an English Premier League club that wants to go out and break every record that Manchester City set this year.

“If I do decide to go back into the A-League, I’ve got unfinished business there, which is winning a treble, and break every record I helped Graham Arnold achieve with Sydney FC.

Under Stubbs’ guidance and direction, Arnold built a confident and mentally strong team that lost just five of 57 matches in the A-League since October 2016.

And his connection to Arnold appears set to continue when the 54-year-old takes over the national team from Bert van Marwijk after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

“I will be working with Arnold when he is appointed Socceroos coach after the World Cup,” Stubbs said.

When contacted by The World Game, the Roar denied they have approached Stubbs to work with Aloisi.

@ clockwork

Maccarone
Theo
North
FBK

All gone.

Keeping Mackay and Holman means they’ll have two players in their mid 30’s. Hardly an age crisis lol.

Put Mauk/DDS in that squad and a visa-DM (who’s more than likely going to be early to mid 30’s) and the squad has been rebalanced. I don’t think there’s a squad in the HAL that Durante have 2-3 players in their mid 30’s

Holman is so yuck. I assume that means DDS/Mauk/another CAM is off the cards. He will have demanded a starting spot to stay. He turns the ball over and does nothing positive other than hit in the odd goal which isn't that helpful when he doesn't cover back on D after gifting our opponents the ball. Anyone who says "He was one of our best, he deserves to stay" are having a laugh. He isn't a player who is winning us a title as a starting player and is taking the developmental path away from a young player like Akbari with bench minutes. V disappointed.

Well my hype for next season went from very high to very low, the thought of watching Holman strut around like a headless chicken has put me right off. Back to the usual Roar it seems in the off season.

Yep no way any good attacking midfielder will want to start on the bench knowing Holman starting.

With the front three presumably,Taggart and Bautheac and the new Dane,Holman must be playing AM again.Which spells trouble.I really struggle to believe JA will leave him on the bench.
If there is a marquee DM,then that means McKay or Kristensen will be benchwarmers.
But either way unless the new DM is a workaholic with lots of pace and great ball, playing skills,Roar are heading for another season with a slow, dysfunctional and lethargic midfield, vulnerable to counterattacks unless they sit deep and incapable of playing through a press without a longball.
How sad one signing has deflated all our hopes.

I think the questions already answered Mr. B .... Roar are in for eirher Mauk or DDS, hopefully they can land one of them, who starts on the bench is then next seasons question - I’d actually say both Mckay and Holman will see more of the bench than starting next season

Holman wasn’t in any position to negotiate on that, at best he was a 50/50 signing anyway. As I said earlier I wouldn’t have signed him on his injury record but as long as they sign a Mauk/DDS type player I’m happy enough - Holman at 10 is okay, he won’t be playing on the wing next season that’s for sure.

I said before that if Holman starts on the bench I would be fine with that, but I honestly can't see that happening and knowing Aloisi we could see Mckay and Holman starting, I wouldn't put it past him.

I agree Aloisi’s past behaviour would see him play both. This season must have been a near death experience for him though.

They were the two players we probably needed to get rid of most tbh. They're back. Holman and McKay will start and we will stink.

They also take two bench spots if they do go on the bench and what do either of them really offer off the bench other than heaps of pointless running? Both are poor on the ball and turn it over more than secure it (which used to be one of McKays strengths).

Mauk and DDS are both superior players to Holman rn and most definitely will be next season.

If we stink next season Aloisi is gone. He’ll know that.

The common sense approach here is Mckay and (more so) Holman are bench players who come on at key points in games when their experience can count.

Let’s see if JA has found common sense?

If Mauk or DDS are signed then they need to start. Certainly a visa-marquee-DM will be a starter which takes either Mackay or TK our.

I'm happy to be proven wrong but I don't think Aloisi has learnt anything, no doubt this is his last season if he can't produce as the Bakries will have no problem paying out his last year of the contract.

Mr. B.

I’m not confident either. But that’s the hope out of what was a disasterous season.

Basically there’s what, 2 signings to go (assuming the new Dane is in) - they’re crucial now.

Still really happy about Taggart, the new Dane and Wenzel-Halls though so I can't be too unhappy, hopefully those two other signings in AM and DM are solid as well.

Not sure why we have re signed Dagostino when he offered absolutely nothing last season.Holman could potentially be a decent re signing assuming that he doesn't start. If he is our starting CAM though, god help us.
