The Peru federation has released an emotive video addressed to the Socceroos - perhaps imploring that they deserve to be there more than we do? Smacks of Recoba's 'divine right' comment to me!

You know you've made it when "the" is in front of your name.

"the Rogic as a false nine days"? Makes sense to me.

Maybe it should have been "the Rogic-as-a-false-nine days"?

Why address it to us though? Why not all of group C? Unless this is the first of a trilogy...

Anyway, piss off Peru, and don't forget to thank Mile if your drug cheating captain gets to play in the WC.

I’ve seen the Peru Video addressed to Denmark. It’s basically the same just with Danish subtitles instead of English. I’ll assume there is a French one as well.

arrogant South American teams that think they're going to beat everyone just because of their geographical location. Towel the f88kers up please Bert.

And FIFA has said Guererro can't play in the WC, so snort that up your hooter. Sorry, put it in your "tea".:doze:

correct, but following that Peru and the captains of France, Denmark and the Socceroos appealed to FIFA to let him play. Why they chose to do that I have no idea, I'm sure if the situations were reversed Peru wouldn't do it for us. Anyway, today's news is that FIFA has rejected this latest appeal, noting it must abide by the CAS decision as the world's preeminent sports arbitration body.

How can you be sure of anything of the sort? That smacks of a huge amount of projection and prejudice. And frankly I don't care so much about what other nations do and do not do. I'm more interested in the sides which I support acting as good sports.

Anyhow, FIFPro are also fairly furious about the situation and making representations to FIFA. Including our own Andrew Orsatti

Good for Peru. But those challenges are fairly similar to those we have faced here.

As for the economy, well, Peru's economy is shit because it is full of Peruvians. Spare me your sob story.

Couldn't we make a video in response to show the adversity we've faced with VARS this season. That'd show them the turmoil our Aussie players have to live with.

We were very unlucky last time. So, swings and roundabouts. Touch wood.

Last world cup this was the squad who were injured:

Jones
Williams - Herd - Sainsbury - Good
Sarota - ?
Kruse - Rogic - ?
Kennedy

I don’t think Australia has had the same struggles as Perú. You know over 70,000 people were killed between 1980 and 2000 in Peru by armed Rebel groups, the Shining Path and MTRA, and by government forces.

No such thing as a shit country. Just shit individuals. Describing another country as, overall, shit and looking down your nose at people in the developing world (from a position of relative material privilege) is a fairly strong indicator you might be one of those shit individuals.

Or maybe you're just having a bad day?
