Corona was an AM who did really well at 6 and Mauk has more defensive ability than Corona. So it could be an option.
Spira is just our Internet discussion ... but just like Alex Song May make it as a bonafide rumour on twitter 😂

TWG reporting that De Silva's move to city has collapsed. Would we even still want him?

My understanding is Roar pulled out of chasing DDS and City weren’t that keen either, t&c’s of a deal maybe?

+xTWG reporting that De Silva's move to city has collapsed. Would we even still want him? I would His defence has improved quite a bit just needs to improve that end product a bit. With better players around him he could be quite strong

If we played an attacking/staggered 433 he would fit nicely. Young Jack-Papa-LDV-OToole TK Mauk-DDS Eric-Tagz-Tobi Would require a mountain of work from DDS and Mauk to make it work but that's a good-looking XI.

A DDS-Mauk midfield combo could work as Mauk’s defending is excellent. But it would have to fit into JAs preferred 4-2-3-1 set up, there’s no way he’s deviating from that again after last seasons shambles.

Here’s the SBS story with a bit more speculation: https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/de-silva-s-city-move-stalls-as-rivals-move-inAnnual wages of nearly $600k with Roma wanting an A League club to pick up the bulk of those pushing him into marquee status. Would you want him at Roar as the second Marquee?

For me, he hasn't done enough to warrant it. I don't like the idea of handing someone marquee wages based on potential. Too risky imo.

Time for JA to get serious with pre-season and the FFA cup. No matter who the opponent is. It's been a joke so far.
In a resort somewhere

Are we with Central Home Loans again this season? Or is that deal up? I assume a major sponsor will be of high importance.

@ BRFC92
Word was CHL were a stop gap and wouldn’t be front of shirt this season. Haven’t heard anything on new sponsors though ... there’s a few teams looking as well apparently Roar, Victory and WSW at least

+xFarks sake, another FFA Cup, another A League opponent 🙃 As a city fan (depending on our signings) I am not to confident at this time. Roar have started pre-season, some of our guys are still overseas sun-baking, and even more so with that pre-season cup in India for City, there wont be a huge turn-around. Heres to hoping Teflon John tries out some fucked lineup like last season in the cup :D

@ PricklePear
Despite what most of us fans want to believe all clubs treat the FFA Cup as a preseason “hit out” until the later rounds.
So yeah, City will be fresh back from India, Roar will have been in training at least 3-4 weeks longer sooooo .... it should favour JA, but, but ...

I would expect us to get a decent partner this time around. Club seems to be in better hands than last time *fingers crossed*

Roar v Logan Lightening tonight is on. Little rain down Logan way apparently.
Meanwhile the W League teams game at Olympic is off due to rain.
Be good to see where the boys are at
