E xcellent result. Obviously these early stages aren’t competitive matches but it should get tougher.

Looked more clinical in the first game. Typical Asian team with 11 behind the ball.
The AFF U19 Men’s Tournament is being held concurrently. However, the FFA have chosen not to send a men’s U19 squad. Typical from a bunch who look at these tournaments as costs, not investments. At least they sent a women’s team.

Not great so far...
0-0 at half time against Thailand. Nevin off early on. Looks like she had trouble breathing.
Current Lineup
Whyman Vine/Crummer/Tumeth/Roestbakken Sayer/Ray Cooney-Cross/Chidiac/Ibini Fowler

+xWow, incredibly lazy team atm.4-0 to Thailand. You wouldn't say they look disillusioned, more like completely disinterested. Kind of telling that the Keeper is playing the ball out in front of the CBs. Have to wonder if they want to lose, or just don't want to be there. Disorganised as hell, slow, awful.

Just a simple ball over the top eveytime.
I understand that this is a mostly an u20 side. But, geez it doesn't look good for the program.
Don't get why you keep switching players out of there normal position. Something that stajcic does and its quite frustrating.

Fitness is terrible. Playing people out of position left and right and got to stop.

Shame the girls lost, they played well to get the 2 goal lead but the lack of conditioning really showed in the second half, hopefully the full time environment will help them get better in that regard.
Just found out also in that team that Alex Chidiac has signed for Atlético Madrid! Great for Aussie womens football.

+xThailand definitely improving across the board at club and international level. First time I ever left Australia was to watch Chonburi v Victory in 2008. Been to that lovely country many times since. Football is huge there. Kids playing it in every alley no matter the heat. Ads starring European and their national team stars everywhere you look. The most recent trip was when their young national team coach had Ange in his pocket in the WCQs, sadly he has since been fired. The club and national team footballing potential of Thailand is huge. We should feel privileged to be a part of the sleeping giant of football that is South East Asia, but the FFA has seemed to prefer to treat this literal gold mine to our north like an inconvenience.
