yes agree SF, even longer ago it was a strong club, a fellow player/mate used to play for them back in the day. Yer Congrats of your 20's again, I recall last season win not before but no matter, so not many got the step up to 1sts from last season regularly ? As for the GF, when comparing both schedules of late it sure points to a SO win but APIA sure have come through under the heavier schedule better than expected. I'm partly with you re Leichardt but look at these 2, Lambert just isn't suitable enough spectator wise depending on expected crowd numbers and Belmore probably isn't available. At least its on grass for me. A GF isn't too bad being on neutral ground in any case, looking forward to Sunday and weather is meant to be sunny 21deg.

+x+xPL3 last games played last Sunday. As confirmed earlier StGeorge City won CC PL2 here they come, congrats and welcome down Parra. We/Magic played Fraser Park @ Christie. Their U18's were a far better unit compared to 1st round and gave our Minor Prem boys a real run for their money, mind you I think our boys minds were elsewhere. The ref was useless allowing for much shirt pulling and grabbing arms but in the end the cream rise's to the top Magic win 3-1. 15wins on the trot great achievement. Next our 20's made light work of Fraser winning 7nil. Then I heard virtually no Fraser 1sts turned up, so most of the worn out 20's played 1sts. Nothing like winning but not this way - 13-1 ! Like WTF, those 1st's doing that to their club and fellow U20's, I can imagine how they feel due to the clubs background issues but pretty spineless attitude - if I was a TD from other clubs I'd be looking out not to take any of those MIA last game day be it PL3 or any level. In saying that our 1st's top goal scorer was starting the afternoon as equal leading goal scorer on 29 goals, he quickly set on breaking records on his way to scoring 6 goals and finishing with an astounding 35 goals for the year. Magic have all 3 Snrs in the play offs next weekend. Fraser, last in CC going to State. Hmm I had a quick look at the team sheets & it looks like 3 players + the 20's GK backed up for firsts which is rough but isn't too unusual.. unless there's more to it? :O FYI, was told 6-7 max 1st graders played.

Strong noise about fecal matter in the fan at Blacktown. We'll see how much my two percent of fans know, but they reckon a mass exodus is on the way. One player they should be able to keep would be Clut as I can't imagine any one else being silly enough to sign him. The commentators spruiked him as one of the buys of the year, that being their judgement you wouldn't send them to the shop to buy a loaf of bread. As I said , we can look and learn.

I reckon the crowd was on 5k - I could be wrong but could be 4k. SO was much sharper/on their game from the KO. Early goal was well set down the right flank perfect cross for a well taken free header - too easy that early in a GF. From then on SO had APIA's measure, APIA hardly had any good shots on target due to good defending by SO. Their attack was to predictable looking to find Sekiya over the top of their tall backline, wasn't going to happen. Congrats to SO, thoroughly deserved Double winners 2018.

the way they played sure is possible and being a Sydney club be great to achieve. Got to say Sanchez's goal going around Necevski then to be virtually on the goal line to score was such a fine line angle great goal, we were right at that end watching.

+xwho attended the final yesterday? how was it? seems like Olympic deserve the double. healthy Crowd? Olympic thoroughly deserved their win and were superior. well done to abbas saad and his team. max burgess, sanchez, whitehead, kuleski, all had great seasons. crowd was ok, not spectacular but ok. season is now over and already looking forward to next year. many questions. how will mt druitt go in the big show for the first time? how will the new gaffers go at sutho and wolves? plenty of talk already about squad changes, some big overhauls taking place. its a great comp the npl 1. deserved more recognition and attention.

How it may play out.
[Sydney Olympic v Perth SC] v [Canberra FC v Campbelltown City]
[Lions FC v Edgeworth FC] v Heidelburg
It may well be Sydney Olympic v Heidelburg Final now that would be an epic match.

+xI saw somewhere the crowd estimated at 2,500..looked way more. Seating sections, the Grandstand holds 3.0K The terraces hold 2.0K. 90% full. Then you got the small stands behind the goals + the grass section on the other side of the entrance. I'd say 5 closer to 6K. Forget about what if anything FNSW say. They fucked up the pax flow at the ticketing/entrance before the game. Massive lines all the way back to the car park with only 3 booths. They fuck it up everytime a big side is in the GF.

Olympic too good on Sunday, congrats.
Our 20’s got up which is fantastic however we need to turn these players into first team players and keep them at the club.
Panny to Rockdale rumour has been out for months, not too surprised with that, I thought he wanted a coaching role to go with it, any truth to that Kolner? Panny will be apart from Stava by the looks of it as he might be player/coach at Canterbury Bankstown.

Stava will be staying at United from what i am told.

Yeah Da Silva gone to Rockdale too. Norval looks to be gone as well, not sure where to but he wasn’t happy we got Bouzanis. I’m expecting a couple players that have followed Palapanis to join too.

We missed out on Anthony Frangie, opted to go to Marconi for more money. Mitchell Mallia went to Marconi as well.

That number 14 for Sydney Olympic was quality. Very smart player. As a neutral it seemed to me that the amount of football that APIA has played the last few weeks has caught up with them, body language wasn't positive at all as opposed to Olympic who were enthusiastic & hungry for the entire 90 minutes even when they were at 3-0. Lucky me & the my unruly mob got their early, heard there were massive lines to get in due to a tiny amount of gates open. FootballNSW fucking up once again. Great venue too, took the family to pizza on Norton Street for lunch, parked then slowly walked to the ground.
