ODSONNE Edouard will once again spearhead the Celtic attack against Rosenborg as the Scottish champions kick-off their UEFA  Europa League group-stage campaign at Paradise tonight.

The French striker put two past Rosenborg keeper, Andre Hansen, when the two sides met in the second round of Champions League qualification in July. Edouard will look to replicate that form as Brendan Rodgers aims for three home wins in the group which also includes FC Salzburg, RB Leipzig.

My app has Rogic as right wing. Can't be right. Anyway Giannou also starting in Leverkusen tonight and Gersbach on the bench.

Rogic more involved with good passes into space but many more not reaching the man. 

Nice shot Rogic but keeper gets down really well to stop.

I received confirmation yesterday from the Sporting Director of Oliveira do Hospital (in Portugal's third tier) that Danny Choi has signed. They played a friendly the other day and he scored two goals. Will most likely play this weekend alongside Aussies Kristian Trajceski.

Well at least Celtic's defense managed a clean sheet. Toothless up front again however. No Sinclair ?

What an AWESOME name (using english/anglo saxon) for a team. Even better for a region. Possibly some fun made at their expense, but hey.

• Clean sheet was a positive.

• The final third?... '%€%#'. '#&£@'. '%&$#'. The final ball options and execution was terrible. Horrible. Not one of the starting front four should be happy with their performance.

• Overall play?... Ok. We were the better team over the 90mins (IMO), so anything short of us collecting all three points would have been unacceptable/unjust. We now have the first match out of the way, whilst collecting all three points. If we can rediscover our attacking flow/ability up front, over the next few days/week, things could start looking positive for us.

Side Note: Griffiths needs to start. Edouard may need to spend some time on the bench. Then again, maybe playing them both together may be a better option. I don't know. I don't know. 😧



EDIT: re: Sinclair. He has struggled for form for the past 7-8 months. He does make appearances off the bench, usually for the last 20-30 minutes (as he did in last nights match).

Sounds like Celtic need a fresh, new, Persian injection in attack...

If one does go down that road, one will have to be quiet and careful. (🕵🏻‍♀️) Otherwise one may run the risk of the USofA finding out, and then being hit with sanctions. 😰

Agree. They pinballed it around all night. Dominated possession, but atrocious at creating.

Rogic got hacked a bit in areas, which in the SPFL he gets sometimes. Not so with UCL refs. 

They're gunna have to come out a lot more aggressive if they want to get anywhere. 

Not playing your best players is like going out there half asleep, a waste of time, and in my view they won't get out of the group playing this weakened style football.

We are playing out best team though. It just so happens that Griffiths and Sinclair have been out of form for months albeit Griffiths seems to have now turned a corner. And if you're referring to Arzani they are simply getting him match fit. It's a smart move at a club like Celtic as their fans are notorious fickle and demanding with players writing them off after 1 or 2 bad games. If you read the rogic thread when he first started there they all slated him with their usual anti Australian perceptual bias we've all come accustomed to regarding our players. Now look at how they view him!! Same will happen with Arzani give it time

Griffiths,Sinclair by a mile. They've fielded weak teams for a while now, it's no secret they're no where near where they were when Rodgers originally took over.

They've lost that killer instinct they had in that unbeatable season.

Killer instinct they posssessed even before Dembele came into the fold and somehow, through freak brilliance, dislodged Griffiths from the starting striker role.

Yeah I'm not debating the injuries, just saying they're really not playing to their potential. 

Atm we are playing our best team. Griffiths and Sinclair have both been out of form for months, Simunovic and bitton are injured and Mousse dembele was sold. Then there's Arzani who they are cleverly getting minutes into through the reserves. I know you all want him to play but realistically he'd only be getting sub appearances which wouldn't be helping his fitness so playing full matches in the 2's is the right idea 

1) Griffiths and Sinclair's playing time.
• Griffiths has not long returned from recovering from a knee injury. The last couple of matches have shown that he isn't to far off from being 100%.
• As for Sinclair, his form from the past 6. 7. 8 months, hasn't been anywhere near his best. Why that is, I don't know. Yet I do believe he still has plenty to offer the club.

2) Loss of the "killer instinct".
• Are there a couple of players who seem to have misplaced their "killer instinct"? Yes. Sure. That said, they DO have that "killer instinct" in them. Once the reason for why it happened is addressed, things will then go back to business as usual.

Theoharous made his debut for Gladbach U23 last weekend from the bench. They play again tonight.
