+x+x+xTotally understand why they are getting statues but archie should be there alongside. Should be 2 Victory statues at AAMI. Archie and Super Kev. Love him or hate him, no-one can deny the HUGE impact Super Kev has had on Victory, the A League, and football in this country. People who hate KM are just sooks. I do not agree with all he does but I am so over people who dislike him because he put in a few strong tackles years ago. That is what defenders are suppose to do. Get over it. If the striker can not handle it they should take up table tennis. He literally threatened opposition players with the end of their careers, as well as ending Adrian Zahra's professional career. He was and is a callous thug.

There were several tackles in last year season much worse than KMs on Zahra. Just because they did not result in a long term injury is just how it goes. Muscat got a red and a ban. He made an apology. It was a long time ago. People change. Adrian Zahra made a full recovery and went on to play for Perth and other clubs. So no Muscat did not end his career. Muscat stopped being a player a long time ago. He is now only in the football eye due to his coaching. You need to move on. If you do not like him because of his coaching that is fair enough. However stop being a sooky la la. It is football. Strong tackles are made. Some too strong and sometimes people get hurt. It is football.

no disrespect to Slater and Smith who are both legends of their respective sport. but Victory is the number 1 tenant at AAMI Park and if they get tax payer funded statues, so should we.

I do not hate any other defenders, just those that have literally threatened to end people's career and that begins and ends with Kevin Muscat. The way he abuses officials shows he hasn't changed, it's more than a "strong tackle" but repeated attempts to physically hurt people and as you said it is football, you do not play football to physically maim people. Zahra was on track to be a Socceroo, now he plays in the NPL, you can't tell me Muscat's callous decision didn't have a detrimental affect on his career he lost a substantial amount of pace and agility to it. He told Ashley Young in his first professional game "that he would break his legs in if he went past him". He caused serious injuries to players in fucking friendlies and even got sued for ending a players' career requiring four different leg operations to even walk again.

He had years at Heart left on his contract, and even had another contract at Perth Glory to make A-League grade, but in the near decade since the incident he has found his level at Hume City. Some might like to make out that he was the next Harry Kewell cut short due to mean old Muscat to justify their cognitive dissonance about the coach of the team they're jealous of, but the inconvenient truth is that 99.9999% of Australian football fans would neither know nor remember his name if not for that tackle. As for being mean and "threatening" players, fucking lol.

Those 2 players pretty much put rugby league on the map in Victoria, fully deserved imo. Even old wogs know who these 2 are. Obviously people will say Archie deserves one as well but then again Viduka was doing freakish things at Olympic Park a decade before him.

Give Viduka a statue at Knights Stadium by all means, but no one can say Archie doesn't deserve one at AAMI Park.

Sure slater could have one but if it was judged on putting things on the map then Archie would be there in a heartbeat.
Say what you want but local Football had never been as popular or as mainstream until he came along.

Northcote player Gerrie Sylaidos currently training with Victory's first team; easily spotted in the highlights due to his white bandana: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R87OG-hSWAPlayed for City youth for a little, but nobody's perfect.

+xPleasantly surprised to see Deng in the Socceroos squad! Yeah it's outstanding news for the lad - I'm curious as to whether it'll be at right back or centreback Arnold sees his future?

Yeah pleased for the lad too. The downside of course is you might lose him for January and the Asian Cup

+xYeah pleased for the lad too. The downside of course is you might lose him for January and the Asian Cup This is true, but I'm one of those people who has always prioritised country over club, so I'd rather him have the opportunity with the Roos. Besides, gives an opportunity to another member of the squad to stake their claim.

Great news but I’m surprised. I’m not sure he’s been dominate or of a standard high enough yet. Hopefully it will take him on to bigger things.

Personally I think Deng looked really good at RB last season when Geria left. I was more impressed with him there than previous times I’ve seen him at CB.
Maybe Arnie feels the same and sees him as a good RB option.

We lost scotty galloway for the olyroos for a stupidly long time. At least with deng he gets to train with the senior boys and probably get much better and strive to go back to Europe again

Slapped (slepped?) 3 - 1 by the Nux today in a closed door match. Honda with our goal from the spot and looks like he had the captains armband on. Interesting!
