Done, hopefully I'll be changing it again soon. The incompetency of this government is breathtaking. and the other mob has better credentials ? from one melting pot to the ultimate fryers, breath taking alright lol........ "The other mob" are far from perfect but they are objectively better, it'd honestly be hard to be worse. I don't expect you to agree though Its been pretty bad at time but nowhere near as bad as labor. Our economoy is ticking along nicely, surpluses are in sight and our borders have been secured. The libs also passed gay marriage which after six years of leftist unrule, was looking like it would never happen. By far the biggest achievement was the emptying of our detention centres and stopping the drownings at sea. The bloodshed caused by labour and the greens will never be forgotten and future generations will look back on that government with great shame. Only a loopy deranged ideologue would describe the left side of government "objectively better", unless of course you correlate success with debt and deficit and drownings at sea.

I think Senator Hanson was right to raise concerns against the inherent bias, marginalisation and demonisation of white people. This is pure racism. I read an article today that sought to justify it by arguing that due to the historical inequity whites had to experience the same thing in order to atone for the past. What the fuck? Like we cant all just move on? I guess we'll have to start sending Germans to the gas chamber soon.

+x+x+xJust noticed that the thread title needs an update ... Also had a discussion at work today about terms of office for elected MPs (3 years). Is this long enough for government to make actual steps forward, or is it needed to ensure none screw it up too bad over a look period of time?? Do you think the 3 year election term is too short, too long or just right?? Would be interested in thoughts. A government that governs less, governs best. So that's a no from me. A royal commission into your sector disagrees. The government will always say they need to be more involved with every sector, whoever is in power. The pollies are a bunch of cowards. But you are correct and I am getting destroy with paperwork at the moment.

hah it's been much worse no way it was better than labor nerrrrrr. morrissons dick is way bigger than shortens ner ner ni ner ner Nothing really to do with the government, global markets improved and so did ours. the main reason deficits are in sight is because of restrained government spending , nothing to do with "international markets"and our borders have been secured. At a pretty devastating cost in both money and humanity, unfortunately Labor are continuing this policy under labor and the greens you had thousands of people die at sea and tens of thousands locked up in detention. blood on their hands doesnt adequately describe, more like dipped in blood head to toe. only people with mental and intellectual defects think people who travel here illegally , come from war torn countries and cant speak English present a financial windfall for the country they inhabit. Our detention centres are pretty full actually, no evidence that the drownings have stopped, nothing gets reported. Good transparency no the detention centres have been virtually emptied and closed down. of course your feeble mind cant handle the fact that the coalitions policies have been tremendously successful so you resort to petty conspiracy theories and paranoid government cover ups to make sense of it.

Plenty of people are saying whites should feel shame and guilt for having white skin. In terms of legalities this is distinct possibility in the future, particular if gender quotas we now see in boardrooms and parliament morphs into racial quotas. Labor even proposed a week or so ago quotas for gays and transgender. Very dire indeed. It's not even about the legalities, it's about the fact that racial minorities are using their skin colour to obtain privilege and preference to access better educational opportunities, jobs, promotions and government funding, legislated or not. This is deeply unfair, causes great angst and only directly benefits those who receive the racial dividend , the benefits do not flown down to the broader minority communities, so when those people fail to land jobs and promotions they blame racism, whereas the real reasons are more likely due to being under-qualified and lacking skills. I'm sure there is some bias towards racial minorities, but this is more than offset by the bias in favour of them because they tick the diversity box.

I am for equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome (aka communism). I understand basic gender quotas, but any movements towards quotas based on other grounds is rampant identity politics. If we were to quota employment to every different sub-section of humanity we would be risking quality of work/production and social mobility. The arguments against meritocracy stem from those (1) without significant merit and thus can't handle other people's success (or they're naturally non-competitive), and/or (2) are blinded by social justice and want everyone on 'equal' footing
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

It causes angst for those who miss out on jobs and promotion because of skin colour namely white and Asian people. Also within the employment space, those who have been unfairly rewarded due to skin colour, namely non white people, are never truly accepted as having deserved the role, instead there’s an undercurrent, perhaps an unconscious one, that they arent really up to the job and are only there because of AA policies. Mostly it causes angst for the minority communities because they feel that they cant make it on their own, and need the paternalistic intervention of white people via AA policies to be professionally successful. I believe divertsity policies and the rest are extremely demeaning towards minority communities and in fact racist towards whites and non whites for different reasons. Look at the recent court challenge against Harvard Univeristy students by Asian students who have missed out on enrolment due to race quotas, and tell me there is no angst.

I'm no fan of Phelps but to me there's no point in voting for a 'small l' Liberal party candidate that's just going to get drowned out by the hard-right powerbrokers in the government. The only way to send a message is to send in independents that aren't beholden to them to bring them back to the centre.

Interesting to see the reactions of the election result. I honestly think the media reads too much into it and goes off in all different tangents about why the electorate went this way or that way. Most people, even in upper crust electorates like Wentworth, are politically clueless and dont really have well developed opinions or understanding of this or that candidates or party’s policies. You have a guy like Sharma who is a nobody against someone who is well repsected and basically a b grade celebrity like Phelps preaching a message of borgeois moral values.. For the people of Wentworth its probably a vanity thing, their choice in the last election was between the prime minister or some no name Labor hack, and their choice in this election is between some no name Liberal hack or the amazing fabulous Dr Kerryn Phelps. So part of it is probably revenge, the other part is they probably feel entitled to be represented by someone who doenst live in a house less than their own. The worst thing was the Libs thought that trotting out someone genial and affable like Sharma would work well against someone like Phelps who breathes fire and screams “Look at me”.

Fuck me, if an electorate like Wentworth with highly educated people (nearly 50% have a bachelor's degree or higher) don't know what they're voting for, we should probably toss out democracy all together. I can't work out who's reaction is better, Rusty's or Chris Kenny's

Highly educated people dont necessarily have highly educated beliefs. Nor does it mean they give a shit about politics. The wealthiest, most elite divisions in Wentworth still voted Liberal.
