+xJoyce said that Najjarine was ahead of Arzani until he did his shoulder in last season. Will be interesting to see him this season. Sheeeesh, not a bad way to heap the pressure on him!!

UAE beat Chinese Taipei 8:1.

+xAny skill najjarine has was developed at wsw. He developed in western sydney at lower levels with Kosta Grozos. Signed with WSW and then left for Europe to get a contract only to return to Australia a few months later and then signed on to Melb City

+xCrazy game Qatar vs Indonesia...Amazing goals. Agree, some of those goals were nuts. Wonder if these are all the qatari ''imports' bought in for the next world cup that Qatar are hosting? Will be interesting to see how they progress over this tournament.

I heard he was promised to work with the first team and was promptly sent to the youth teams. I don't think he actually signed and the club was never named. He came back because he wasn't going into the senior team. Bit of huff and puff.

Our young player need to learn to not rush of to Europe unless they get a good offer. Some of them seem to go for the first offer without even thinking.

The problem imo is that the a league teams are more comfortable with contracts and game time for old retirees than giving opportunity and vital game time to youth.
Players become frustrated and choose to go to overseas reserve teams for a professional environment and game time.
Players should be wary of the promises offered by overseas clubs, but who can blame them for seeking out game time elsewhere when the A league makes promises it doesn't deliver on.

The a-league is not seen right now as not a good league for young players to have sustained development often than not they dont play as much as they like or dont trust the league as a whole and go to europe within the first opportunity. We already have seen it with Arzani and McGree. With the new independent league structure along with the crucial second division this needs to change otherwise too much talent wont develop into there full potential here.

If so a smart move, he would get a better chance to play first team football at Melbourne City than a european club where often than not start with the reserves and potentially rotten his development. I think he can break through, apparently Joice rates him more highly than Arzani this time last season.

Will be interesting to see how they progress over this tournament. Lots play for Eupen in Belgium. A lot of Africans in the Qatar team though many seem to be born in Doha. Number 7 looked clinical.

Funny thing with Najjarine is he would have been in with a real good chance of some good game time if he'd stayed with WSW just like his mate Grozos would have been if he didn't get injured.

We're playing Vietnam. Surely those little hackers will supply us with youtube streams as they did for WC Qualies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Duy8m_Xeashttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpVirblp8jM

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
