Seriously outstanding game. I have faith, but these Saudis should not be underestimated.

LOL Folami telling someone to get fucked, because he wasn't closing in at the back-post to finish when the guys missed an open net moments before.

Folami looking the only one to have a go. Beats his man, whips in a good cross but stam is on his heels and misses out on what should have been a tap in. Then we get the ball back J the box and Folami is snoozing and all the forwards start swearing at one another. Great stuff

+xNumber 20 looks terrible These team selections seem bizarre to me. Folami on the left wing, Atkinson not right back, Iredale and Najjarine on the bench. Yeah pretty much. Makes you reallywonder about the coaching as much as our poor ability. Iredale bench is also weird.

Goal Atkinson. A tick shabby but they all count!

Folami is definitely one for the future, I'd call him up at the next camp at this rate

Not good signs when they are fighting one another.

And then the flukiest equaliser just before half time. Atkinson heads the ball straight into a defender but the ball ricochets back into Atkinson's shin and trickles into the bottom corner. Dysfunctional, but I'll take it!

I do think Folami is frustrated but the others haven't played in months and he has a pro contract. I think we'll see Folami develop into a good professional and, as usual, a lot of others will disappear.

Not good signs when they are fighting one another. Yeah, there seems to be very little unity in this team. That's something we usually have in spades. That surely goes down to the coach and the team environment he's creating. Folami does look like he has some attitude. But then he at least has some talent to back it up

Folami's workrate is definitely non-existent, but he's dangerous everytime he has the ball.... I highly doubt his attitude is like this with the first team at Ipswich.
Can see him having a big future with the Socceroos, seems to possess the same arrogance that Arzani has.

Ipswich are really down. When he returns, the new manager might give him a shot. He was well liked by McCarthy.

+xSo how is the FFA curriculum working out? SA are living in medieval times and their team is 10x what ours is. A game can also be a question of how hard a team squeezes. Some teams try to squeeze hard, expending a finite amount of energy early, then run out of gas after 60 min. This cohort have come through the full curriculum in technical terms. Aussie16-17 years olds are products of it.

+xWe've given away 10 shots in the first 20 mins. We seem so naive on the ball it's not funny.
It can be a question of another team expending their BPO squeezing capacity early, because it is difficult to keep it up over an entire game.

The midfield isn't screening the defence very well.

Wow, a stupendously pathetic backpass from thurgate chips our defence and falls in between the on rushing keeper and retreating defence. Delianov saves the first but can't stop the second effort. Naive and pathetic. Our midfield is just awful.

only an Australian would be allowed 10 seconds on the ball to then cross it in to the arms of the GK. Come ON!

We should really be down by 2 or 3. To be only down by one means we only need one more fluke or mistake to get this to extra time

By Australia continuing to play a high defensive line, in the pursuit if easier possession in BP, they are being caught on the counter attack in defensive transitions.
Having said this in BPO, Saudi are starting to falter in their squeezing intensity and the aren't playing such a high line in attack.

Why do our back four repeatedly pass the ball to a midfielder who's under pressure from 2 opponents? They take a touch and decide against passing to the winger who's open to play the ball centrally to a man who's tightly marked. Are they surprised we keep turning the ball over?

Saudis miss a sitter with 2 players unmarked in the 6 yard box. We're still in this, pull a Bradbury boys!
