@cc. You forgot to add that we have been a very disciplined club. When that changed under Farina action was taken to bring in a very disciplined coach. The same action is needed again.
Given that the season is virtually over already, you could actually give a new coach a chance to clean out some deadwood next month. Instead, we’ll probably get a clean out of players Ross doesn’t get along with and recruit a couple of new pensioners.

I still have hopes for Mauk. But he won’t get better playing in a side full of hotheads - Matty, Avram, Eric,

Agreed that coach change is the ONLY way forward now. I was just referring to the comment on available cash if those three are let go.

The more distressing thing is the fact that the Queensland NPL is literally the breeding ground for the VIC and NSW NPL's. There is so much talent, YOUNG talent!! in the league, yet BR seem to be keen on choking that natural progression by playing has beens year after year...
The fact that only DWH was the only player to get recruited from the NPL shows how disconnected BR are from their roots. You are the only A-League club in the state, with arguably the best NPL youth factory!!! The young lad from Olympic with the dreads I thought was a certainty for a NYL or A-League contract. Classy player.
Muratovic and Brady from the NYL must be close to getting a job on the wing, at the very least....

I'm still calling for this petition to let the Aloisis go.
Surely someone has enough tech know how to organise it.
We are the fans, we have a say .....and a right to voice opinions. If the board won't take action maybe we should.
And .......I'd bet other club fans would sign it too for the sake of valued competition .

+x“Muratovic and Brady from the NYL must be close to getting a job on the wing, at the very least....”Brady is SHIT Yeah I'm surprised he still in the team. What's annoying me was seeing Akbari getting a run in the wrong colour and caletti haven't had a run this season. The lack of pace in midfield is a problem, one of many. I said it was silverware or bust for aloisi as I thought we where not as bad as what we are now. We are horrible and I know aloisi has no idea what he doing. He has to go now, both of aloisis. We need it before January.

There are good kids though. They’re just stagnating below the HAL team. I’d say I’m not sure why but I think we all know ...

Victory only giving the likes of Hope and Akbari a handful of minutes is a crime in itself like Brisbane's case Muscat has good young talents on the bench and barely plays them, and Aloisi barely plays youngsters unless he likes or even if hes forced to. The 2nd division is obvious to heal problems like these but coaches and clubs need to have the balls to play them and see it as an investment and not a squad filler just to fit in the salary cap.

Yeah agreed. I don’t think anyone can Kay that accusation at Roars feet. Few if any clubs play ex NPL players regularly.

+xTK seems so slow when trying to get back after losing possession. Has he always been that slow or is he carrying an injury? The two nutmegs on Ingham that lead to goals also sums up the current Roar. There was a time when many of the Roar players were vying for National team selection. I’m hard pressed to think of even 1 (maybe Taggerty.) that would be allowed to clean the boots of any current Socceroo. As far as JA goes, I can’t flog that dead horse anymore. Thanks for your efforts John and best of luck with your next gig. I really had hoped it worked out for him (I like the guy). I wouldn't be looking for Taggart to be in the national team. Look at that rolled gold chance he missed in the first minute, those chances need to be put away 100% of the time if you are a striker of any ability. Unfortunately Taggart has a very low conversion rate for the good chances he gets. And TK is very slow all the time these days, he is 2 years past his use-by date. Not only is he slow, but he regularly gets caught in possession and gives the ball away, refer to the first Victory goal last night. And he now always seems to want to remonstrate with officials, which I think it part of the unfortunate Roar culture driven by the words and actions of the coaching staff.

No, Brady was a bright prospect once upon a time and frightened at the prospecf of losing him they signed him to a five year contract which ends this season.
Since then he’s continued to do okay in NYL and NPL but can not translate that into anything at A League level.
Brady is notbetter than Bautheac.
Brady is not better than Mikkelsen
Brady is not better than Wenzel-Halls
Brady is not better that Henrique
Heck, Brady is not even the best player in the NPL/NYL team
Brady is a bad example of whatever point you are trying to make - I agree with you Aloisi doesn’t like playing youth and he’s stalling the transition but Brady is not an example of that. The kids not good enough and needs to drop down a division ASAP.
What we have is a coaching problem. I’m pretty sure you could put Messi in this side and he’d be pissed off and demotivated within 2-3 weeks.

Brady bad example. Caletti is a better example.
Coaching staff is THE problem.
Better disciplined staff with some ideas could well have prevented that fiasco last night and......... possibly the send off.
Eric needed to be calmed down to diffuse the situation but Ross just yells and argues with officials and John too. They throw heat on the fire and bang, Erics off.
Not good enough boys, it's an embarrassment.

I don't mind John but don't take to Ross at all.
If John wants to coach at this level he has to shake Ross and go on alone and get some credibility about himself in his next job.
Preferably not at Roar.

Waz,why are you such an expert on youth players? It's annoying when you bag young players who have never played regularly in the top grade. How the hell does anyone know what these guys are capable of when they never play? Playing 10 mins and not scoring or starring and then bagging them is ridiculous. What about the other 11 players who couldn't star during 90mins and consistently can't win a game? It's painful watching these current players with their zimmer frames lumbering back in defence.Lopez,TK,Mikkelsen.Get rid of them.McKay be gone. 100% I would rather watch a bunch of youth players with a few star imports than the crap we see year in year out. We are ninth.Give youth a chance!

@ crimsoncrusoe
Why am I such “an expert on youth players” is a bizarre statement, do you have to be an expert to have an opinion? And if so are you an expert?
It seems your reading my comments lately and taking offence for some reason?
Brady is ineffective and there’s nothing more to say. He just is. A 15th appearance won’t change that. That’s just my opinion.
Wenzel-Halls isn’t imo a striker but he has the makings of a winger. I would have started him yesterday and given Brown a good serve ... failing that I would have brought him on in the 60th minute instead of Ricky.
Caletti I’m a big fan of. I’d be playing him more.
Akbari I would have moved heavon and earth trying to keep him. I know why he left (more money) but ...
D’Aggers has run his race so not much point in playing him.
There’s a couple of youngsters coming through that should be getting game time (Aaron Reardon for one) that should be appearing in the team but they’re not. There’s no point asking why - we know why. JA doesn’t play kids.
P.S. I’m not an expert in youth coaching by any means even though I’ve spent 20 years coaching youth players including U16’s last year and a team in the upper age group. (U18) this season (the preseason has already stated there)
What I do know about youth players is they’re far more fragile than people think. Someone like Wenzel-Halls can have his confidence shattered if he’s not managed carefully. If they hit a growth spurt without explanation they’ve no energy or are suddenly getting injured. There’s a reason some clubs are better st bringing youth on than others, Roar used to be good st it ...

I mean you look at the players that come from the NPL into the aleague and you see why clubs don't go for them. Dwh has talent and potential but look at his first touch. It is always 2 or 3 metres ahead of him. Your simply do not have that sort of space in the aleague. He is great one the ball is under control but he needs to learn quickly what is required at a league level. King Kenny is another great example his touch is noticeably further than The average a league recruit. Fine in the NPL but not at this level. Now note I am a big fan of dwh but if that is the stand out level of the NPL it is clear why aleague clubs don't tap the NPL. I haven't seen bestB this season but from previous years he should be no where near the aleague.

Agree. There’s a huge gap between the NPL and HAL and it’s difficukt to close that gap in anything under a season.
Hopefully we get that second division and hopefully there’s at least three QLD sides in there - that’ll be a good start on closing that gap.

Hopefully we get that second division and hopefully there’s at least three QLD sides in there - that’ll be a good start on closing that gap. I think too, if a real national second division comes in it can be a more serious option for players . They will be more inclined to do such things as train 4 times a week after hours etc if they see it as a true stepping stone to a real professional step up. Clubs would also be willing to invest in decent coaching and football infra structure if they have a chance of (down the track a few years...) being promoted to the A-League. To be fair , why would anyone at present want to train three nights a week in NPL and work an 8 hour day as well if they know that no one from the A-League is paying any attention ?

Agreed. I love the NPL, although I’m seeing less of it lately due to an increasing in coaching, but we need that next step up for players, coaches and clubs.
I wasn’t very complementary about Brady earlier on but he’s too good for NPL but not good enough for the HAL but in a couple more years, in the right environment, who knows?

Waz,, The reason i'm taking offence is because you are consistently bagging youth players, who never play. It's like you are a proxy for JA. You watch them play pretend games and train against senior players who have a vested interest in making sure they are shit to keep their places. Then you call them shit. I'm calling you out as talking shit.

I think Dylan Wenzel-Halls is an absolute joy to watch for what little time he has got under Aloisi, of course he can improve in certain areas at A-League level, but he needs more than 5 mins at the end of the game. He needs to be given a shot as a striker imo, I am honestly quite sick of seeing young players moved to the wing once they are promoted to the A-League just because of their speed. There was probably only one other young player that gave me that same feeling of joy and that was Kwame Yeboah. The kid has so much potential, hope we don't lose him.
