There was a moment in the game on Friday when the cameras focused on the Aloisi's and Ross was just staring into space, not even looking at the pitch. John was very downcast.

There have been lots of moments this season, during the game and during the press conferences where I have looked even more downcast.

There was a moment in the game on Friday when the cameras focused on the Aloisi's and Ross was just staring into space, not even looking at the pitch. John was very downcast. I thought that was very indicative of where they are, and hence where the team is. Time to separate them, and give John a chance. It seems Ross isn't going to fall on his sword.

It's definitely beyond just getting rid of Ross and giving John another chance. He can't motivate the team, they aren't buying into what he is saying. He lacks tactical awareness. John can learn his lesson (of ditching Ross) and try again at another club in a couple of years.

....the fact that even Roar supporters are divided as to whether it was a penalty shows that it is a 50/50  decision.
I have looked at it a few times now and changed my mind three times .
I now think he should have been given the benefit of the doubt . A 50/50 penalty should be waived play on in my eyes...but I have no issue with this one being given either ..it could have gone either way....intent was not clear.

Lets face it ..we were never going to win that game anyway and if we had it would have simply shored up JA's position in his eyes.
I hate to say it ....but I am now sort of hoping we do badly to force some sort of major change. (yes ...that may make me a bad supporter but hey I support Man Utd as well....not having a good year football wise...I need to see change ! lol )
I can not see anything improving long term as it stands.
We need to either sack JA and Ross or, at the very least, sack Ross and get JA a tactically astute and wiser assistant ....i.e someone like Ron Smith or even Rado.
(A defensive coach would be good too ).
Edit ...it must be JA who sacks Ross though as he must buy into the need for different advice and be willing to listen to it.....trouble is I can't see this happening ...do Italians sack brothers ?

The next three games are away so there's 3 losses right there ;)

It is quite funny looking back at the very first game this season, all those chances Roar created, looked the far superior team and there was hope for the upcoming season but even then they still only got a draw.

I remember after the game fans were wondering if Roar looked good because it was only against the Mariners or they were the real deal this season, I guess we know the answer to that

I look at it this way, the worst Brisbane has finished in a season was back in the 09/10 season when Roar were transitioning over with Ange.
They finished 2nd bottom with 8 wins, 6 draws and 13 losses.

This is Aloisis 3rd season, no pre season dramas, fresh players, there should be no excuses.
Brisbane are currently 2nd bottom, 1 win, 3 draws and 4 losses.

I can't see him getting the boot early but if by the end of the season they finish worse than the 09/10 season, Aloisi will be sacked imo.

Okay, need to nail this “the next 3 games are away”

The a league live app says:

Nix (a)
SFC (a)
Glory (h)
Jets (a)
City (a)
CCM (a)

Which is shit planning but only the next 2 are away unless the app is wrong??

The Glory game is from the round prior to the Jets game. That's why it looks like we have 2 away then a home, whereas its actually 3 away then home! cest la vie

Looking at the official fixture list,

It has the Jets away game as Round 12 but the date for that game is before the Round 11 game against Glory, weird.

I'm not happy as I have business trips for basically all the home game next year. How hard is it to organise 1 or two games away then one or two games at home. Rather than basically barely seeing the roar play for half the season.

We have Victory at home (on the 15th Jan) after City away. So it’s 3 away and then Home games against the top two sides (either side of City away).
Hopefully we have an extra point or two before we play the Mariners.

QLD Government stadium task force report out today. Apparently recommends against building any more stadiums as well as stating ballymore is not suited for redevelopment as a stadium due to access issues and should be a training Center only.

There’s a big push now (via Peter Beattie) to have a second Brisbane NRL club. Odds are that it will be in Ipswich which will require a new stadium. Will the government say no to that?

Basically yes, they will say no.

I recon it’s PAYG on stadiums from now on - no reason why Ipswich wouldn’t get a grant from local, state and federal governments but the bulk will have to be funded by private debt.

Again, Dolphin Oval at 10,000 and a cost of $24m proves a point ... excessive spending on stadiums is not necessary.

...but if a stadium is funded by private debt and is over 10,000 seats the government would run it ..so no one is going to fund a stadium they can not get revenue from .

I thought it was over 15,000? 10,000 is just too small to consider for an A-League team.

Nah, the RSF had a lawyer check that provision out.

It’s not true, you can build and operate your own stadium but what you can’t do is participate in events funded by the government purse eg boxing, concerts etc.

You'd think this would be unconstitutional in any half decent democracy ... but here in Queensland the government can essentially ban the expansion of a sport, by saying "We won't build the stadium you need, and if you build it yourself, we'll take it over."

So, if the government provides any funding for the A-League, that means that you can't build a stadium for an A league team, right?

Question...Is JA a cockeyed Optimist or a Delusionist.

JA at his last media conference...

"It'll turn for us"
"Last year we had a similar start. But last year we had a lot of injuries".
"We'll get our wins a lot earlier this year".

"Last year we went on a run and won 7 out of ten".
"We'll go on another run like that".
"We just need to pick ourselves up ..."

Question....If we started training in June, why do we have to wait half a season to go on a run like last year?

Next games...
WP,SFC,NJ-Away
PG -home
MC-away
MV-home
CCM-away
WSW-home
AU-away
SFC-home
PG-away
CCM-away
March.....

Does anyone see 7 wins from that 13 games ?

@ Clockwork Orange

It appears the whole point of the act was to protect government assets.

So yeah, if the government funded a stadium it would become part of the Stadium QLD portfolio and fit in with Events/Tourism QLD events program etc.

My guess would be government would contribute a modest amount to any new private stadium, just as they do for other private projects, but it won’t be much

I had a look at the Ballymore article on Brisbane times, it recommends getting rid of the stadium, i'm not surprised about that.

But the outcome of the 12 month review, is that we don't need a smaller stadium as the current stadium can currently look after the demand.

I call BS on this, the pitch can't handle NRL, Union, A League and Concerts.

You only have to look at the state of the pitch after the Bon Jovi concert to show that we need another option for football

I do realise that when Brisbane live arena opens, that should help with reducing the concerts at Suncorp, "maybe"

if anyone has the link to the article, could you post it, i just when back to look at it, and i've exceeded my Brisbane times article limit for free viewing
