+xWon't make any difference though. Manager is the most important person on the pitch he picks the team, formation and tactics We just lose to a team that we were heavy favourites against we needs to be sacked

Playing Rogic injured is a mistake. Playing Sainsbury undertone is a mistake Swapping a fullback instead of a striker is another mistake.
Arnold needs to be punted especially if the Roos fail to get out of the group. Ffa we have Syria yet who are better than Jordan

Nights like tonight aren't really a reflection of the coach or tactical mistakes, it's more a reflection of the mismanagement of football in this country.

You fucks thinking the FFA are going to replace Arnold with a good coach of any pedigree are absolutely deluded.
We don’t have any cash....zilch & who wants to coach a team where your marquee player is the goalkeeper?

I don't think he needs to be sacked yet.
However I think we failed tactically in a number of ways, 1. We played a small forward and then played a game that suited a large forward.
2. We played our wingers very narrow. This is the way Arnie coached Ninkovic and Adrian last season for Sydney and it worked. However with Jordan playing a bank of three DMs in front of the defence all it did was put more bodies in the centre and crowd things. It never made the full backs make a decision on whether to come inside leaving the wide area open or stay wide allowing an extra player to attack the defence. When it works you get a situation like last years FFA Cup grandfinal when Marrone was caught between following Ninkovic inside or coming out wide to cover Zullo's run. The wingers needed to stay wider to try and stretch Jordan and over load out wide to pull the defence wide and leave gaps for Rogic and MacLaren to move into channels. 3. We moved the ball far too slowly out of defense when Jordan committed players. This was the time to break very quickly and try and get an attack going before they flooded back in numbers. However, despite Ryan throwing very quickly and very well, the player receiving it seemed to be in no rush. Letting them get set and then playing a long ball has almost zero chance of working unless there is a tall option. 4. It seemed like Rogic was moved to the right hand side of midfield in the second half which seemed to put him out of the game for long periods.

Aren’t our National players some of the highest paid for international duties? Maybe we should invest that money in a decent manager and reduce their match payments

+xNights like tonight aren't really a reflection of the coach or tactical mistakes, it's more a reflection of the mismanagement of football in this country. A huge piece to the puzzle AND no matter what the hater thread starter thinks its the players full stop ! Had enough possession 2nd half to win 2games, yer they parked the bus but how many shots, the keeper hardest work was the last seconds, how many balls played behind the backline, not enough. Rogic, he's such an anti climax, he had a sitter in front on goal on his left peg and skies it, at his level he could at least make the keeper make a save - arnolds fault I guess. How many corners that we didn't win the ball and put on target. They were more desperate, threw themselves at everything, counters they had 1-2 at times vs's 1-2 and still got a strike on goal. We build up slow as always allowing them to reset. Arnold out phhhhft, what difference would it make as mentioned, the cattle isn't good enough full stop. Makes me think of that Hyundai AL add with a few current Roos quoting AL made, yer right about it.

And to think Marcelo Bielsa was available but the FFA coaching panel turned him down due to his poor English skills, if there was one man that could change our football around it was him.
Enjoy the x amount of crosses with no purpose with Arnie ball Australia!

Shouldn't have been hired in the first place, but also can't be blamed for the lack of talent available. Socceroos squad wafer thin, throw injuries on top of that and it's next to impossible to do anything... Throw in a decade of training kids to pass-pass-pass and don't-you-dare-show-any-individuality, and you're going to have trouble as soon as you come up against someone organised who is happy to sit deep and let you pass it around so long as you don't go at them...

I’m not a fan of Arnold but it’s notable we lost to Jordan in the Middle East in the last 2 WC campaigns.
Yes, even under Ange.
Having all the possession and not being able to break down defensive teams is hardly new either.
The true test will be the response in the next 2 games. If they get it right we likely avoid Japan in the quarters so there is a positive in this.

I don't think we'll be the only big name not to top their group.

I guess the warning signs were when none of the players wanted to go to the Asian Cup.

History has a habit of repeating itself I remember Arnold at the Northern Spirit with arguably the best assembled NSL side at the time and again arguably for a few years... constantly he was found lacking...
As an aside was also disappointed in Rogic .... he seems to have gone backwards..

Post match interview pretty standard. It seems with Arnold you're either in or out and no in between. The positive is a lot have been under him at club level but at national level they've had a few managers now and might not believe in him.
The dressing room still appears stable. The playing group grew in maturity from the world cup and frustratingly we saw nothing of that today.
Arnold got the starting side terribly wrong today.

Bad start. But too early to say too much. If they don't persist with Graham Arnold, I'd like it if they try to get one of the Scandinavian managers who managed to do well with those sides recently.
E.g. Janne Andersson who was in charge of Sweden at the last WC when they made the quarters. Or Lars Lagerbäck who was in charge of Iceland at the last Euros when they made the quarters.

You know those useless ones who never won the Asian Cup quoted by pundits here for starters, that once retired they talk shit, etcetcetc...... LOL......... BS its the gaffa, so with the cattle he had choice of its his fault ?! ffs he's not the one passing the ball to the opposition ! he's not the one who's doing the 100m in 50seconds ffs, He's not the one who can't contest winning the ball in our corners to get on target. He's not the one who left that goal against us be un contested. Seriously some of you are delusional, the players got out foxed, out enthused on the park no matter the starting line up !. Too slow, lack of skill set to out play the opponent.

I honestly cant believe anyone has ever thought post 2007 this guy could manage any level higher then the HAL again. If Verbeek was manager we would be losing it saying he is hopeless We sacked Holger for losing a friendlies to FRANCE AND BRAZIL (ok we lost 6-nil) but it is more disgraceful to lose to Jordan 1-0 then France 6-0 if you ask me. It isnt that we just lost we lost convincingly we had no clear chances and Jordan in the 1st half out played us and clearly parked the bus in the 2nd half. It almost looked like we had no width or plan B and the amount of set peices we had and did nothing with that is all down to coaching im sorry but there is no excuse that would take the blame of GA IMO

I was gutted when Iran knocked us out of the WC and hysterical when we qualified over Uruguay but I hardly get excited anymore.
It's uninspiring, disappointing and the national team is poor.
Rogic is crap, might as well play for Scotland cause that's the only place he does any good. Such a disappointment every game.
Arnold was gonna "suffocate" Jordan. Ha ha Arnie what a joke you are.
