Will be at the first ODI in Sydney today with two more in Brisbane and Melbourne. Once again selectors love a surprise selection just for the sake of it with Carey to open. Siddle to play his first ODI in 8 years and Maxwell selected rather low at 7

Australia win the toss and bat. Probably only thing they’re winning today

A bunch of Test rejects, a very long tail, no Zampa, a veteran with a pitiful ODI record leading the attack. We will be lucky to post 250.

one of our genuinely world class odi players is finch
I worried that selecting him for test would wreck his odi confidence
early signs seem to show that

we are soooo bad at odi all of a sudden
Our side is seriously unbalanced too
Its the sort of side you select if you think 250 is still a par score

Richardson and Behrendorff, young, talented, it will be a good test for them, I'm looking forward to the bowling. A lot of questions may be answered. Remember Australia V England last year with Hazlewood, Starc and Cummins, were humiliated 4-1. It will be interesting

there is nothing world class about our odi bowling lineup ...or batting line up or tactics or selections
our lack of evolution in 20-20 tactics has meant we haven't kept up with the evolution of odi

+xclass shot with shots like that this side could win the world cup in 2004.... I want Handscomb for the WC. Always maintained it is his best format. Khawaja as well as he brings composure. Agree 30 runs short. Khawaja and Marsh made meaningful scores but a touch too patient.

Mitch Marsh 37.3/92.9 David Warner 42.61/98.14 Aaron Finch 38.22/88.39 Steve Smith 45.44/87.21 Handscomb 36.43/86.95 James Faulkner 30.25/91.45 Darcy Short 44.50/112.94 Travis head 36.02/92.9 Glen Maxwell 33.1/119.85 Stoinis 35.53/87.12 Khawaja 45.76/86.26 Lynn 36.29/96.55 S Marsh 43.68/80.51
Based on that I'd pick Warner Short Smith Lynn Maxwell M Marsh Stoinis/Faulkner (prefer Faulkner) Wicket keeper? (say wade who's the best batsmen) Starc Zampa lyon
A side that can go hard for 50 overs averaging about 7/307 including extras. Not world beaters but gives us a shot at defending our title

Did not concede a boundary. My MOM. He should lead the WC attack imho. Behrendorff also pushing his claims. Lyon, Siddle wicketless. Siddle was.. picked up Kuldeep off his last ball.

Turned into a great win. At 3/4 thought it was going to be easy but you also had two of the best one day batsmen ever at the crease so thought theyd make it tough and they got close. Got lucky with Dhoni given LBW off one that pitched outside the line
