@clockwork orangeBig difference between accepting or commenting on normal football stuff and yes sometimes details are sort if important enough. Before the relentless agenda driven crucfication of Gallop I would suggest it would be prudent to wait for better information (details). I believe there are those like Kosmina who are of the same opinion.

Kosmina was happy fuel the fire by reporting that Stajcic has not been told exactly why he was sacked.

He should have been told I agree and the fans deserve a better explanation. None of us know the details yet which suggests it is a very serious matter.

If Gallop had said "Alen has acted in contravention of acceptable workplace standards" we'd be wanting to know what he did, but at least there'd be a clear reason for his sacking.
But instead Gallop used the apparent existence of a 'toxic environment' as part of the reason. Through their support for Stajcic, the players are calling him out on this, by stating they are totally unaware of such an environment. This brings into question just how serious the 'toxic environment' was, don't you think?

“The players” what players, how many, two? Were they disgruntled in the first place? The toxic environment was reported and the “new” board (not Gallop who was the spokesman) decided to sack him. The findings must have been that serious and no doubt there were instructions to keep details from the media until further investigation.

So instead of waiting for the details we must immediately and without delay have Gallops head because he didn’t say it like some liked lol.

The root of the problem is this country is simply not good at professional management in ANYTHING and should outsource it overseas like call centers.

So you are here having your opinion, but haven't been bothered to look at what the players are tweeting?  Haven't even bothered to read a few posts earlier where the following was posted.

moops - 20 Jan 2019 6:22 PM
I've been working the Stajcic story for 24 hours now & it simply doesn't add up. Players to have posted who are *seemingly* pro Staj -CarpenterCrummerKennedyPolkinghorneButtKellond-KnightLogarzoDe VannaGielnikKerr Simon It's a full eleven.

https://twitter.com/patstackmedia/status/1086886152408190976

We can add Williams, Alleway, Butt, Harrison and apparently Van Egmond
Also Melissa Barbieri seems to against the decision."

And here's Sam Kerr's comment in case you can't be bothered looking:
"I have not been gagged by the FFA. I have not commented because I wasn’t ready to comment while I am still shocked and upset. My trust was in Staj to lead us to the World Cup final & I believe he was the best coach for that. Thankful for everything his done for me and the team."

And here's Kyah Simon:
"Shocked/disappointed to hear Staj won’t be taking us to the World Cup in less than 5 months. We’ve been preparing meticulously under him over the last 4yrs to have the best crack to win in France and under his guidance we have been the most successful team in Matildas history."

Sounds like there was a serious 'toxic environment', eh paul?  Or is that you David?

Slater Tweets - "There are those from within the FFA who have gone out with an agenda to get rid of Alen Stajcic."
Ray Gatt replies - "Absolutely on the mark

Ray Gatt - Interesting developments. David Gallop spoke to Matildas this morning. Then left. But he is coming back to talk to them again. Seems a lot of questions are being asked by those within the Matildas.

Then do your job Ray, and enlighten the peasants that indirectly pay your wage.  This is everything that is wrong with the journos covering our game.  Gossip and innuendo, but don't have the balls to put together a couple of paragraphs with any details.

This must be all a big joke:

It’s understood that the findings from two anonymous player surveys surrounding the Matildas set-up - conducted by the PFA and Our Watch - were not the sole driver for Stajcic’s dismissal.

The Our Watch survey centered on psychological well-being, culture, safety, emotional support and even sleep.

The inference is that Stajcic, 45, failed to see the necessity to change his approach, or indeed recognise there were any significant issues, when interviewed by Gallop, along with players and other coaches and support staff in one-on-one discussions.

The source insisted that Stajcic’s fate had not been sealed prior to the board’s deliberations on Friday amid concerns over perceived bullying and a work place deemed to be unsatisfactory.

So essentially Gallop is telling Stajcic that if he agrees to coach in a manner that the FFA and Our Watch deem appropriate, then he can keep his job. Are you kidding me?

What a pathetic press conference. What was the point? Only 2 things i took from that is the squad are clearly unhappy about the sacking and are confused as to why, and that no warnings were issued. Something so serious to incur instant dismissal surely wouldnt leave the squad so confused?

Perhaps some agenda-driven company could offer to do a survey of clubs, players and fans .... Davo's a big supporter of surveys.

If a manger at a workplace is bullying (or allowing it happen knowingly) and unsatisfactory work conditions exist, then the employer comes to that said manager and says things have to change ... what do you think would happen to that manager if they said No. That is the scenario we are being painted.

Not sure if this is what happened, but to sack someone this close to a WC and their on-field performance to me suggests that there may have been some quite big issues (for the PFA to investigate and then FFA to further investigate suggests a bigger issue than we are being told too).

That many players don't seem to be aware of it, suggests that perhaps the inappropriate behaviour may have been targeted at only a few individuals and most likely not Stajcic direcrtly (although he may have knowingly allowed the behaviour to continue, or when the FFA raised it with him he may have been dismissive of it).

The ffa have been waiting for any reason to sack Stajcic. 'It is obvious' that the ffa do not like Stajcic, and if the 'rumours' are true, that Stajcic does not hold back when dealing with people in the ffa. The survey is just an excuse to get rid of Stajcic. I do hope that those like Gatt have the balls to say what has happened, but he prob is in fear that if he does, then he will lose his contacts within the ffa.  The FFA, again, playing politics, not having the best interests of the football community.
The quicker Gallop goes the better.

So could the issue have been he was bullying the backroom staff and administrators more so than the players from your perspective?? (This could also explain why the players are a bit shocked).

Ive long held fire on my thoughts regarding Gallop but after watching that press conference its clear to me that irrespective of the Matildas, Australia football can no longer be lead by such a pathetic excuse of a leader and man generally. Firmly in the #GallopOut bandwagon now.

Never been a fan of Gallop since his NRL days. It will be interesting to see when the new board structure is put into place if he retains his position (pretty sure the CEO is employed directly by the board).

Looks like the problem was, that he refused to salute Gallop and the FFA when he was told he had to coach the way Our Watch wanted him to or he was out.

So you think an employer shouldn't be able to dictate to their employee/manager how they should manage their workplace when other employees are complaining about a "toxic" environment and bullying??
