Meanwhile Jack De Bellin goes under the radar...
For alleged gang rape and sexual assault...

Cmon Todd.... im sure you can find a good character reference somewhere. He's part indigenous isn't he?

I get why they don't comment about matters before the court... The same reasons I don't use those examples... Walker etc..

But Bolton, or the 'thigh master' as he shall now be known pleaded guilty to common assault of a woman (the only people Toddy thinks its not OK to assault) and they've done frigging nothing... Its an absolute joke...

Because of the former CEO Donkeys kneejerk reaction to the Snake thing they need to tread carefully... As they did with the Thigh Master... No suspension or comment while before the court...
But its done now... He took a lesser charge.. He pleaded guilty... The NRLol has done or said nothing...
My question .to Tough Talkin Toddy is how upper would upper thigh need to be for you to act if it was your mother?...

Like, they're pining to make an example of someone... Here your shit Todd... Its perfect...
A matter that may seem trivial to some; grabbing a random female on the upper thigh... Guilty in the courts... Plead guilty to common assault...
1 year out...
That shows you're serious...

When courts make a decision there should be no room for interpretation or the old case by case line...

Its simple Tough Talkin Toddy... Even with you're double standards re violence against women vs men vs community...

NRLol penalties based on court decisions -
Sexual assault - life sentence
Sexual assault against a women - 2 x life sentences
Aggravated assault - 2 years
Aggravated assault against a woman - life
Common assault - 1 year
Common assault against a woman - life
Drink driving - low range 6 months, mid range 12 months, high range 2 years...
Drink driving endangering a woman - life

There you go... One rule for all no matter his many ratings they generate....

Next week tune in for player manager penalties for being complicit in SC rorting...

You've got a point, but let's face it we are not one of those clubs that gets  flavors  from HQ.

Anyway bring on the footy, I'm pumped and expecting a great season.

I like the fact that no one rates us, plenty of so called experts to hopefully prove wrong.

Reserve grade trail highlights on the Dogs site:-

1. Tom Mata’afa, , 4. Connelly Lemuelu, impressive.

No 4. looked like SBW in that company, so he is either good, or he knows how to get on a highlights reel.

Reserve grade and flegg looked good, but they were playing against DesBall.
On that subject Des is apparently happy with the Manly side, I admit they do have some good players.
It will be interesting to see how they go, bottom of the table is certainly possible, making the 8 is a chance.
Similarly the Broncos have some good young players.
Teams like Melbourne, Souths and the Sharks have some older players in key positions.
Again I can see experts predictions for the top 8 being wrong.
I'll go out on a limb, Dogs, Manly and Broncos make the 8.
Also Roosters, St Merge and Storm.
Panthers, Knights, and Canberra fight out the last 2 positions.
I am probably wrong, but no more wrong than anyone else.

You people are deluded.
Roosters are stronger than last year.

Took 'em a good 10 weeks to get with Cronk. They dont look like they'll have the same issues this year.

Apart from Cronk being a year older, I don't have a question mark on the Roosters, but as premiers there will be a target on their back each week, so an additional challenge.

My main question marks are Souths and Sharks, who have got new coaches, so key players are older and in the case of Sharks a few veterans have moved on.

Shaun Johnson is a real unknown, it is a brave man who will tip against him, but him and Matt Moylan are both "touch footy players", my gut feel is 2 touch players in the spine will not work, they will occasionally be brilliant, but they will be inconsistent, error-prone and prone to go sideways or become disjointed in attack.

For Souths, the coach Seibold had them passing the ball well, Bennett focuses more on defence, disciple and reducing errors, with the pressure on the half to create something.
With high completions Reynolds can execute a good kicking game, but the main dangers is the Burgess boys rolling up the middle and Cook running of a quick play the ball.
Fast line speed an gang tackling up the middle, can halt their momentum, it is the type of game where you fire the forwards up to nullify the Burgi, do that, you take Cook out of the game. If they lose a few games on the trot, Bennett will get grumpy and negative.

Storm are possibly on the wane because Cam Smith is a year older, they still have a strong squad an Bellamy is good at developing talent.

The teams I mentioned still have strong squads, I could end up being wrong, that is the whole point of making brave predictions. If you simply follow the crowd, it isn't brave.

For Manly the main issues last year were fitness, discipline and defence, they are the kind of things Des can fix. They have some dynamic attacking players.

St Merge is probably a matter of sooner or later, Ben Hunt will have a good season, that is enough to tip the balance in their favour.

Easts are in as good a position as anyone has been this millenium to go B2B, but I've been saying that about the last 4 or 5 Premiers too, especially Melb, so in the end it really means sh.t.

I do think it will be out of Easts and Souths though and Souths will be stronger than last year and possibly even 2014. Bennett has something he hasn't had for a long loooooooong time and better than he's had since 2000 odd - a genuine Premiership winning halfback. He's gonna be hard to stop.

Well one of us is going to be right about Souths :)

That is the thing with footy predictions this time of the year can be made to look silly.

I'm not sure of Reynolds is the sort of half who runs the attack with a crisp passing game, his kicking game is close to the best in the business.

That is why I am very glad we are focusing on passing this year, most team were moving the ball too slowly in 2018, making it easy for slide defences.

I think the time is also right to move away from structured rehearsed plays into a more ad-lib style where the players play what is in front of them.  That is new territory for a lot of NRL halves. It has just been a while since we have had a major shake up and migration to a new style, in our case that is the main hope.

Souths under Seibold did evolve, where they were stuck in the grove with Maguire. I saw a lot of Broncos games, their attack was very ordinary at times, and Kodi N is a smart player. Milford is a class player who was probably playing out of position.I agree they were lacking a good organising half.

I agree, although I think this year, more things need to go wrong rather than right to prevent the B2B.

Steve is right, they seemed to have few injuries last year - most notable I can think of was Tupou on the wing.

Napa is gone but they picked up Angus Crichton. BMoz also there now. They might suffer through origin abit but I expect their depth to keep them on top.

I cant see them missing the top 4 which means they have every chance, and now with the GF experience and too many big name players, it's hard to see anyone getting near them.

Only the history books are against them.

Yeah not expecting Souths or Sharks to be a contender but every chance to make finals.

I just think John Morris is too young and too close to the players.

The only coach in recent history to make a successful transition from player to first grade coach is Ivan Cleary.

Eels
4%

While we are on the footy this pool  is interesting. The only teams I think are no hope of making the 8 this year have a 4% vote.
Eels B2B for the spoon, to add to the very large collection of spoons.

According to Nancy we have a look of good hookers in the lower grades.

But the young guys might not yet be ready for NRL.

Not sure about Brown, he has talent, but needs to make better decisions.
