I maybe wouldn't argue but to put him in the top 10 of all time? No way... And I would pick Fittler over him at 5/8.

Fair call re Freddy...
The all time thing is hard, as I've only seen 30 and a bit years of footy and have to rely on limited footage, and tales of their exploits from parents, uncles etc.
So guys like Baa Baa, Turvey, Lazarus are right up there for me too....

I was just doing a random google of greatest rugby league players of all time and I can't believe that several had Darren Lockyer...not even remotely close...WTF

On guy I think is underrated is Alan Langer, a bit like Terry Lamb ot Cliffy Lyons, those guys could come up with the match winning play a a critical time.

Only difference is Cliffy looked good when doing, Langer came up with very ugly match winning plays. Stole a lot of wins from the Dogs.

It is hard to rate great players from different eras until you see how the team goes without them.

Lockyer was very good in different roles in his career, towards the end he knew how to get a team over the line.

Then there is the bias towards certain positions too many imortals will be halfbacks and fullbacks, not enough props.

I prefer a hall of fame with all players and explayers getting a vote each year, top 3 get inducted each year. Immortal need 10 years in the hall of fame to qualify. Players vote, but an immortal needs  more than say 40% of the total vote.
If no player gets it no immortal that year, occasionally they might add 2.

I asked and the club told me the "price was right", apparently 2 beers and a free spin on the pokies.

I'd like to see the Simon Garfunkel one...
Plus the Katy and Taylor shows just to have a umm look...
Really they'd all have to be pretty decent performers/shows considering the artists they cover...

While I won't say greatest I've seen, as I have Joey, JT and Smith in front, locky had a period of about 4 years (leading up to his last) where he got AUS, QLD and Broncs across the line in almost every clutch situation to the point of virtually carrying those sides...

Yep, I actually believe Lockyer did it for longer than A Johns, but the difference is that Johns sometimes had to do it all himself while Lockyer generally had a team around him that could help get the job done. Still a big game player. Just like JT.

You actually told the zucchini story ages ago. I just put it in a joke once every blue moon to give ya's a laugh.

I heard that the poor kids in that family went hungry .

Dman is lucky that the eggplant, tomatoes, capsicum and onion all missed.

On the basis of the vegie thrower being hopeless we can deduce that they were a Parra fan, shame as pinning it on a Roosters fan would have narrowed the list of suspects.

It may or may not have made a difference in the Dogs quest to sign that Broncos kid.... but surely if this is now the practice where Chris Anderson heads out to sign up these good young guns, especially QLD kids, Anderson should take Steve Price with him to sell the Belmore dream

With having Price, surely any young QLD’er would be swayed by his presence and experience...

Yes they both are board members, but it wouldn’t hurt

This is a hell of a choke in the BBL final.

Says plenty that the BBL final is not prime time Sunday night viewing...
About T20 Crocket product, the viewing habits of the public, and CH7 and Cricket Australia's priorities...
What would it have been up against 60 minutes ands MAFS or some other 'unreality' show?...

Yeah it has some serious rethinking for its finals format. I think this year of all they have realised a few issues with the entire comp that they need to tweak.

For starters, I think they need to shorten then whole comp or start it earlier. There is no way it can run into prime time "reality" shows and no way it should overlap rugby league.

The public is so eager for the league season that even trial games, WCC, Charity shield and All Stars is more appealing. Not many sports can compete with league, no matter what their administrators think.

You take-on league -  you lose.

CA has already committed to more games next summer as part of the TV deal... CH7 might need a fourth channel or give the majority of games to fox as they obviously prioritise unreality shows...
For mine, the thing it really lacks is Australia's best cricketers...

It's not quite a formal (legal) marriage. It's not permitted.

The whole thing is staged. Some of the actors are good and I expect them to do some K-mart ads in the near future. They certainly have more of a chance at hitting 100k social media followers than say winners of the Voice.

Its junk TV but I'm hooked on its stupidity.

I described it to a friend of mine as "like watching porn". Its all the curious stuff you dont have in your marital relationship that seems appealing - even if not something you'll ever do.

And that is what attracts everyone...
