+x+x+xI have one question. It took from August till the day before the dismissal for the Board to call a teleconference specifically to discuss the issue. Why couldn't the issue have waited until the next scheduled board meeting? Surely it had to be serious and urgent. There has to be more to this than has been disclosed to date. If it was serious and urgent, why didn't they act sooner? So from August to 18 January, they sat around hoping a systemic cultural issue would resolve itself? I thought the survey findings were revealed in November. Surely the Board could have acted 2-3 months earlier and also organised a transition plan. Why isn't the press asking this question? Er, where have you been hiding for the last few years. The Australian Press does not ask questions if it harms their agenda. Even though Aussies say they don't trust their Press, it's funny how most people's opinions usually aligns with the Press in the long run. I'll give you a prime example, which affects many of you people on this forum. I'd say a large number of Australians suspect or believe that Donald Trump is racist against Mexicans, because that is often repeated in the Press. But how many Australians have taken time to listen to the audio recording of where he actually said that? You see, the Press knows that they can fool most Australians most of the time. Even though Aussies say they're not fooled, the people's opinions align with the Press most of the time, which shows that they are actually being fooled, even though they think they're not being fooled. That shows how brilliant the Press are. And there's the other issue that the Press themselves are being fooled because they unquestionably took in everything that their educators taught them. It's funny that uni students insist they think for themselves, but it turns out that most of them eventually align their thinking with their university culture.

Sounds like any club I have played for ....footballers are footballers whether male or female...your team is like a family ...some you get along well with, some ...not so much ,...but on that pitch you are mates ....it's how it has always been . The Matildas sound like a fairly normal healthy set up. The only "flies in the ointment" may be teammates in intimate relationships with each other ... and worse....when they break up....but is it any worse than actors who regularly have flings with each other on set ..they usually still act professionally whilst working and put aside any personal dramas..."the show must go on "...

So you would not select a player on the basis of who they were dating. Really?

Well you did imply that it was unprofessional for two people in a relationship to be in the same team... so what would you do? Tell them they had to break up or you’d only select one of them?

So its ok to to be playing on the same team and fucking each other as well....thats really professianal. wow mind-blowing Mate it is reality .....just because it doesn't happen in men's football ( not at the top level anyway ..that we know of ) does not mean it does not happen in women's football. It quite obviously does and will in future . It would be tricky for any coach ...male or female... to deal with but what do you do ?.....drop two great players because they are having a relationship ...or a falling out after one ? Coaches and admin are simply going to have to find ways of coping with this . I am sure it is happening in all female football comps all over the world . Female football does seem to have a fairly high quota of same sex relationships so we all just have to adapt and accept it as a part of the game. Lets face it ....top international men's teams can have men who hate each others guts in the same team as well. (There are obviously gay men footballers in the top ranks but I don't think there would be the same prevalence as in the women's game....or if so they don't advertise the fact ) These things happen .Our coaches simply have to accept it and deal with it as best they can.

Ok, let’s think about this. There’s a team where some are homosexual and others are heterosexual. Some are in a same sex relationship. The coach has to decide whether two people in a relationship share a room or have them possibly room with other heterosexual or homosexual teammate. His decision should be based on what is best for overall team performance - there is no right answer, just the answer that he thinks is best for he team. And consequently he should be judged on the results not by someone having a whinge in a survey.

+x+x+xI think more people have come forward in the Tracey Holmes podcast today. Three. come forward for or against him? Against him. Here's a direct mp3 link to the podcast so you don't have to deal with the shitty ABC interface like I did: https://abcmedia.akamaized.net/newsradio/audio/201902/r1903160_31206277.mp3Listening now, will be interesting to hear what they say...

Who might have been playing well enough in this couple of years and suffered the great injustice of not being picked for the National Team under Stajcic?! I have watched fair bit of Matildas and W League games and really couldn’t think of anybody who fit the bill.
Can paulc enlighten me cos it’s a real head scratcher.

Out come the white ants.Lol. https://wwos.nine.com.au/football/alen-stajcic-lesbian-mafia-allegations-made-by-matildas-insiders/3df5d0de-a59f-4024-b8b1-59b256a94d07So three disgruntled people, including a back stabbing male, offended by hearing ,'lesbian mafia '. Which was overheard,by people not supposed to be listening Thats it? The rest is a load of garbage.Nothing but personal opinions from haters with an axe to grind. Absolutley nothing but inuuendo.Zero eveidence of anything other than bitching ,most likely by underperforming players ,(one we know of who with a terrible attitude)........and a male .What could possibly be his motivation for such drivel? The term 'Lesbian mafia ',used in private and overheard by backstabber is apparently the only actual thing Stajcic is alleged to have actually done? Hmmmm. How to fix such a diabolical toxic culture? So still nothing to justify a sacking.

Wow! That's it? Seriously? They are actually lesbians, aren't they? So there can't be anything wrong with using that term. He therefore must have been sacked for using the word 'Mafia'.

So, over the use of one word MAFIA, the FFA destroys the morale and unty of a Matildas team that was looking like a credible chance of winning the World Cup in our lifetime. It is revolting and disgusting when you think of the petiness that rules the FFA.

This has been mentioned a few times and if true could easily cause ructions and resentment in a playing group. “There would certainly be a number of players who feel like that; a number in the team that feel there’s one rule for one set of players and then there’s a couple of other players who don’t sort of abide by the rest-of-the-team rules, or the rest of the rules set out by the coach and his staff,” the insider said.

True. But I would say that Stajcic was holding everyone to the same high standard. Some players met it and others did not. This could create that impression of a divide as well.
