+x+xplease give regular updates anyone watching the duke ball has added some intrigue! Who looks good? Who is swinging it I have detected little swing in the Bulls/ Vic match. Sydney game delayed by rain. i wonder if its not the duke ball but the conditions that cause swing?

Jackson Bird is making a mess of the Redbacks. Head in a lone stand.

You have to have prevailing conditions..eg overcast and humidity.. for the ball to swing big.

Ok can it for the next three years but it must be used the summer before the next away Ashes and for the entire 10 rounds.

+xAs a South Aussie TF what are your views on the leftie stacked batting order of the Redbacks? I don't really care about them being left handed but whether they are good enough. I haven't seen anything to suggest McInerney is good enough to open but there have been so many openers tried and they have failed. The rest of the top 6 are at least around first class quality although some of them are not having great seasons. Is 6-138 a really bad score?

He got a genuine edge which went past the slip for 4 and he is far from the worst bowler. Certainly good for a few overs at times.

Whiteman, opening for WA surely for the first time, and the returning Bancroft are dominating for WA.

Wade is getting it to swing and move off the pitch

He is no mug with the ball. Similar to Ponting who was under bowled imho.

Wade bowls at a decent pace, can swing and seam the ball. He needs to bowl a lot more.

Big Harry Conway deserved that wicket .. good pressure bowling with Copeland-like economy. Excellent knock by Whiteman. Have always rated him.

+xThe Bulls are travelling nicely on what must be said is a docile deck. Sam Heazlett put on a entertaining cameo. All too short out for 46 off Tremain. His spin play was specially impressive.

Not sure what the Warriors were thinking batting Inglis at first drop. You need someone with a solid technique there such as Will Bosisto.

+xA patient half ton by the disgraced Cameron Bancroft. Hilton Cartwright.. the Shield's most consistent batsman against the English Dukes ball tosses it away with an ill judged reverse sweep.

This is much easier to decipher re best use of the Dukes.
With bat: Matthew Renshaw 654 runs @73 (1 yr) Hilton Cartwright 932 @58. (2yrs) Moie Henriques 802 @ 57. (2yrs) Kurtis Patterson 698 @46.5.
With ball: Nick Winter 34 ( 1yr) Chris Tremain 44 (2yr) Trent Copeland, Mike Neser, Simon Mackin 34 (2yr) Dan Worrall 31 (2yr) I wish I had all the bowlers averages. I know for a fact Winter got his wickets @19.7

Bancroft with the first Dukes century. That is making a big statement for a recall.

+xBancroft with the first Dukes century. That is making a big statement for a recall. It is. We have Warner, Burns, Harris, Bancroft and Renshaw fighting for two or three spots in the Ashes squad.. Renshaw is the long shot given his bad form has continued. They might only take two openers and Khawaja could open if required.
