+x+x+x+xDogs looking very slick in the game in Bega. Anyone watching the live stream? 22 to 6 1 min to go in 1st half. Plenty off ball movement, we got dominated a but in the middle in the first 5 or so but turned it around... Foz looks good and kicking... Tries to Tolman and Dutchy were special... Leaking points now on the same wing with 2 quick trys to the Raiders in quick succession. The Jamal lookalike caught out of position twice on the wing. Score is 16 to 22 in favour of the Dogs with 15 to go. Pay is trying different combinations in the 2nd half so lots of change to the look of the team

Hoppa at 1... Olive and okunbar played themselves out of a shot... Penalties killed the ISP team... Jmk gets the nod over lichaa on that game but I'm thinking they will rotate... Good hit out... Sue and Napa busy...

Seemed to be out of position at times. Yes I agree, he needs to have Kellogs Angry Flakes for breakfast

Forget the Reggies 2nd half, what mattered was the first half where it was mostly The NRL team.
And we looked good, passing and ball movement was great, line speed in defence was excellent and very very good on our line. Foran was unrecognisable, who was that bloke running freely like he'd never been injured in his life?
Cattle is still gonna be a problem, we still need new talent. If we're tested for depth I don't think we'll pass, I doubt there will be any Reggies coming into NRL this year that would improve the team unlike last year when Lewis, Martin and Smith not only improved the team but the club too.
But - I guess we already knew that.
Not that sold on Crichton, nor was I when we brought him. He's the sort of player I hope we avoid trying tom recruit in future - recruited because he was available, not targeted. Look he's a good average player but that's both his strength and his weakness.
I'd stick with Meany through good and bad until and unless he becomes untenable because unless we've got some other long term FB option lined up - we've GOT to make him work. Hoppa I love his skill but I think he'd serve us better using that skill setting up wingers and back-rowers in the centres.
Best on ground was undoubtedly the new skills coach bloke - you can just see the confidence they have in their game now. 2nd best I'm gonna give to coach Pay - that was good heads up up-tempo football we were playing as promised.
And he's the one that's in for the big test this year. I'm confident in the nucleus of what we have and that the recruitment team can get what we need to round them out to be aiming top 4 next season and for a title in the season(s) immediately following that - they'll open that window for us.
But Deano's off to a good start (and finish to last year). I like the underlying attacking philosophy, I like the energy he's got going in defense. But still - it'll take more. At this stage I'll back him but I won't lock him.

Well said Zef....
I watched a Penrith 2018 game on Fox the other day & geez Crichton would have had to have been the worst on ground that game
For a guy his size... built like Solomon’s Kata... he should be steam rolling opposition players with ease. Anyway, let’s hope the coaching staff have worked on his game this off season
As for Pay, I would be a fan of offering him at least a 1yr extension right now. He may be old school, doesn’t talk well like Seibold or Trent Robinson, but he’s doing everything that’s needed to get this club going forward I believe.
Just needs to work on the type of players we’re recruiting for 2020 because we do lack depth in the backline & at Hooker

+xThat was Renouf To'omaga not Tui Katoa. Oh OK. Thanks. A few had completely different looks this year with the different hair. Ray FM was another one. If it was Renouf, it was hard to tell about his fitness, but it looked like he'd been eating well. You wouldn't want to be the opposition kicker on his watch either... The camera quality wasn't the same standard as channel 9 is capable of, noticeably the lighting, focus, sharpness & other finer details they're capable of, so it wasn't easy spotting who was who a lot of the time. They never released a team sheet attributed to jersey numbers either. Raiders having 2 x #19's on the field at once at one stage wasn't helping (the commentators didn't recognise them all either). The audio level was really low too, I had to crank up the volume at my end just to hear them talking, but when the ground announcer starting talking, of course that was loud...

Sue is a pleasure to watch compared to Klem; uses his feet to get between players, looks like he's a chance of an offload, gets to ground quickly with no dry humping the ground leading to a slow ptb....
