+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xYou had to have come from another planet 30 years ago if you had not heard of the zany Carry On films. I grew up with these madcap, irreverant, farcical comedy films which ran from the late 50s into the 90s. Films that made such people as Sid James, Joan Sims, Kenneth Williams, Jim Dale and Charlie Hawtrey household names. Here is a Carry On poser to get us going. Which film links these three characters: The Rumpo Kid, Marshall P Knutt and Sheriff Burke? Carry On Cowboy? Yes it is Cowboy. How are you finding the forum Jenson? I'm enjoying the forum, i do keep getting lost though! What's your fave Carry On Baggers? I find the best way to not get lost is bookmark your fave sites. All the non sport sites are in the Extra Time section. My fave Carry On? lets see. Camping..like you. Also Cruising and the early black & white ones. I'm starting to find my feet now! I like the early black & white ones too, it's hard to believe they were made on a tight budget and within a limited time, just goes to show how professional they all were. I have a few questions, hope it's ok to post them. 1. Which Carry On has the one liner 'No it has to be the bull'? 2. In Carry On Cabby who starred as the expectant father? 3. In Carry On Cruising who starred as the chef on board the ship? 4. Who was Hattie Jacques' character married to in Carry On Loving? 5. In Carry On Doctor Kenneth Williams plays a surgeon, what was the item that he mislaid, presumably left inside a patient? 6. In Carry On Spying who has a photographic memory? 7. Who played Cleopatra in Carry On Cleo? 8. Which Carry On actor is affectionately known as PintPot? 9. In Carry On Abroad what role did Hattie Jacques play? 10. In Carry On Girls who organised the womens rights group to ruin the beauty contest? Good luck! I know most of those. Will wait a while for any other members to have a crack. I will answer a couple of the more obscure ones . Babs Windsor is the one with photographic memory. Hattie played the Spanish cook.. sister of the hotel owner/manager. Correct!! Hattie Jacques was actually confined to working in one area due to insurance issues, her weight became an issue. Although she was unhealthy being the size she was i actually thought her size brought her character alive. What area was that Jenson? The closet/bathroom :P I totally agree her size was her character. It wowuld not have worked had she been a normal sized female. She was confined the the kitchen/dining area, she played a great role considering her health problems! I need to work out how to do icons. Click insert at bottom. Then click the face. Tons of icons. Dead set the kitchen/dining area.. of her own home? I was just being silly when I said closet/bathroom.

What a pathetic character Kenneth was. Sad actually. He never came to grips with two things.. his homosexuality and the fact that he was a serious actor yet had to settle for a career in comedy.

Yes the excruciatingly annoying Phil Silvers is in this. Evidently he was used by Peter Rogers as a way into the American market. I like all of Joan's characters. She was a class act.

Joke of the day: A dumb blonde one. Blonde: "I’ve heard enough of your stupid blonde jokes. What makes you think you can stereotype women that way? What does the color of a person’s hair have to do with her worth as a human being? It’s men like you that keep women like me from being respected at work and in the community and from reaching our full potential as a person. Because you and men like you continue to perpetuate discrimination against not only blondes, but women in general, and all in the name of humor!"
Ventriloquist: "I'm sorry ma'am but..."Blonde: "You stay out of this, mister! I’m talking to that little idiot on your knee."

Baggers and Jenson, if you want a good laugh, go into the Multi Speculation thread in this Extra Time section.
Some guys, who are a snag short of a barbecue, and who post regularly in that thread, are convinced you two are me. They claim it is really me, Decentric, who posts as Baggy Greens and Jenson on this forum!
LOL!
Baggers, you must be insulted that these guys can't identify the vast differential in our cricketing knowledge - that is heavily weighted in your favour, mate!

+x+x+x+x+xThere were two Rank films that were actually released without the Carry On prefix and added later. Name them. I haven't a clue on this one! clue.. two of the longest titles you still have not told me if you have seen the Kenneth Williams teleplay. I've seen it, very interesting too. What a pathetic character Kenneth was. Sad actually. He never came to grips with two things.. his homosexuality and the fact that he was a serious actor yet had to settle for a career in comedy. Very sad. My missus thought he was great in Screaming, i never really liked that one for some reason.

Because Baggers and I have visited your area, the illogical conclusion they draw is we must all be the same person! Check from page 34 onwards! Enjoy!

We had a taste of Williams in a serious role in CO Nurse. Reckon the comedic persona took hold with his "stop messin' about" line..which kinda became his trademark.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xYou had to have come from another planet 30 years ago if you had not heard of the zany Carry On films. +x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xYou had to have come from another planet 30 years ago if you had not heard of the zany Carry On films. Not sure how I can help you then. The answers are Dont Lose Your Head and Follow That Camel. Is Phil Silvers in Camel? I like Joan Sims' character in this one. Yes the excruciatingly annoying Phil Silvers is in this. Evidently he was used by Peter Rogers as a way into the American market. I like all of Joan's characters. She was a class act. He didn't suit being in it, the Carry On franchise was an all British cast so he did look out of place. I think there's only Jim Dale and Babs Windsor who are the only ones alive now. Babs has failing health though as she's suffering from Alzheimers. Did you know Jim Dale did most of his own stunts and broke him arm when he fell through the floor in Doctor? He must be in his 70s by now.

And just because i haven't posted in the cricket forum, despite me not once saying i'm into cricket, makes me a multi. F1 is my sport, and footy a close second, i'll get active in those forums, i don't spend 24/7 online like some people do, i have a real life. But for the record i am not you, i am not Kris, and neither of you guys are me. Lol. I've asked admin to confirm that my IP address is different from yours and Kris'.
