@ Mr B
I know the feeling - shorter flight up from Melbourne for me but a full flight and seat 11B 🤪

I'd prefer Robinson over Fowler tbh, but we all know what's going to happen....Club will expect all the eurosnobs to turn up if God is our coach

Robinson would be my pick tbh, but I wouldn’t write off Fowler. He’s been working in LFC’s Academy who seem intent on spitting out an army of coaches. I’m just glad there’s none of the names originally mentioned

Robinson track record is 200 games for a goal difference of -8. A winning percentage of 37.5%. Best result in MLS was 2nd and 3rd in the Western Conference. He got sacked when the team finished 8th in a 12 team conference.
Also Wesh ,so DD will feel at home.

Why “oh dear”?
Most successful footballers have business interests - Matt McKay is in the newspaper every time he sells one of his properties from a rather extensive portfolio and he’s a financial lightweight compared to these European stars.

+xBabalj has replaced Daggers in the squad. Wearing #92 like he did in his second stint at Adelaide. Does anyone know why he wears 92?

As I have previously stated my confusion over why sign Babalj at all, but not to disappointed that Daggers has been dropped for him.
I hope Babalj proves me wrong. And I can turn around and say ......Oh Babalj..... great signing........but somehow I doubt it.
However I think Tongjik IS a great signing.
And hopefully he gets to play against WSW and has a blinder!!!!

+xWhy “oh dear”? Most successful footballers have business interests - Matt McKay is in the newspaper every time he sells one of his properties from a rather extensive portfolio and he’s a financial lightweight compared to these European stars. The "oh dear" was directed at the off field activities that would distract him from focusing 100% on the Roar job if he got it. The team is a basket case at the moment, and the next coach needs to be 100% focussed in implementing a winning culture. If Robbie is totally committed, gets the job and has the team playing winning, attractive football, then I am happy to retract the "oh dear" ;)

I just don't think Fowler is the right guy to re-build the culture. As a player he always struck me as one of the more easy going type of guys, even a bit ill-disciplined at times. We need a guy who doesn't feel the need to be the players' best friend.

@aok
Fair point. Fowler presumably wasn’t planning on moving to QLD to set these things up though - if he doesn’t get the Roar job we won’t see him in QLD unless LFC show up so it shouldn’t be a distraction
Whether it might be were he appointed is a question for the hiring manager, there’s plenty of questions around Fowler but so too all the other names mentioned. We won’t find a perfect candidate but we must avoid more of what JA gave us for the last three years.

Dodged a bullet with Davies as head coach at least.

It is all so pointless. Coach knows he’s not there next year so nothing to play for. Players know they can’t play finals or be relegated, and that a new coach is coming anyway. Add to that, we seem to play a different formation every week and form has no bearing on selection because there’s no one left in the squad. Getting beaten convincingly at home by the 3rd worst team in the league is about as demoralising as it gets.
