I'm just glad he playing again and apparently well. He's definitely more of an athlete. He did well in most of his Liverpool cameos. Klopp typically writes players off quickly and the apparent lack of skill in some areas and that silly sending off got him on the wrong side.

Annoyingly Klopp then persisted with Alberto Moreno who had triple the number of bad games compared to Smith but you know, Spanish.... They've found their left back in Robertson.

Smith had to pull the plug much earlier in Bournemouth. Unfortunately some of his lapses in defence were critical, namely in Japan and Saudi away. 

I don't think Ryan will play. Button has been top in the cup. It'd be a pretty harsh call now. I want Ryan to play and am waiting for the line up.

Neu ist das Thema nicht. Schon zuletzt war Kruse immer wieder Gegenstand öffentlicher Diskussionen. Sein Wechselwille ist längst verbürgt, die Leistungsbereitschaft hat drastisch abgenommen. Wer den Offensivspieler beobachtete – sei es im Training oder auf dem Zweitligarasen – sah wenig Kampfgeist und eine negative Körpersprache. Dieser Wahrnehmung widerspricht nicht einmal Robin Dutt.

Mit öffentlichen Äußerungen hält sich Bochums Cheftrainer jedoch zurück. Die Tür für Robbie Kruse sei noch nicht zugeschlagen, betonte Dutt auf Nachfrage und widerspricht damit verschiedenen Mutmaßungen. Voraussetzung für eine Rückkehr in den Kader sei aber eine andere Mentalität, vielleicht auch ein größerer Teamgedanken. Denn speziell in der Krise ließ Kruse seine Kameraden im Stich und zeigte nicht, dass er sich mit aller Macht gegen den Trend stemmt.

Trennung im Sommer

So sehr ihm Robin Dutt für die letzten Wochen der Saison noch die Hand reicht, so klar ist mittlerweile, dass Kruse und der VfL im Sommer getrennte Wege gehen. Was der Spieler ohnehin anstrebt, entspricht nun auch den Plänen der Vereinsführung. Manager Sebastian Schindzielorz kann damit frühzeitig die Suche nach einem Ersatz starten – und jemanden finden, der Tempo und Torgefahr mit mehr Lust und besserer Laune verbindet.

Basically saying Kruse hasn't shown uo when on the pitch in recent times and therefore isn't in the squad. Nevertheless the manager says he still has a chance of stay. It does seem most likely he'll be leaving on a free in summer.

Duffy just decides to shield it and make Ryan run out to clear. Maty unfortunately hits it into Duffy but Ryan scrambles back to gather shielding well against the striker. Still 0:0.

Brighton get caught out at the back but Maty gets out well and his knee blocks the hard low shot. Good stuff. Sleet now.

Had Ryan been a bit taller perhaps he'd have managed a hand. Duffy lands in the back of the goal like a caught fish.

German commentary furious at the Brighton marking and said Ryan was pretty much helpless. I feel he was also smothered by 3 team mates standing behind him in the 5 yard box. He could sense he didn't have much room and barely attempted a jump.
