I said that signing Babalj was pointless when he arrived and we have been even worse with him on the park. We needed a 6 or 10, full stop.
Yes Tongjik signing was a step in the right direction as we needed a CB.
Loko ? I don't know, poor guy hasn't had a chance. But then Babalj, just about every body thort like me.
You could have Alan Shearer up front, but he's got to have some decent midfielders work horses behind him, and we don't.

If we don't get this midfield problem sorted, nothing is gonna change.
The midfield is the engine, any one knows that.

If this is true:
“Fong admitted the Roar had put on hold the unveiling of their new head coach until there was “some clarity” over the future.”
Then the Bakries are fucking idiots.
They have to install a coach for next season or they’ll lose their Licence so this is just petty brinksmanship that will cost Roar next season.

If it’s true I’m lost for words.
There’s no way City/SFC/WSW etc are putting their planning on hold. Why would Fong ??

So Fong is saying that if the Bakries don't get what they want the new coach would be told he is not the coach after all ?? Why else would he even mention the coaching announcement delay and relate it to whether they get control of the A-League ? So some poor guy is sitting waiting and wondering if he has the job or not ???? If nothing is announced till June and games start in July ,he will have no offseason to recruit nor would he have a team to train in pre-season . Fong is full of shit ....if he does as he suggests (caretaker mode) there would be no club , no team and definitely no supporters ....I also could see the FFA simply taking back the licence. Hmmm ??? last time the FFA took over we got Ange and won two Championships in a row ............

Just when you thought that the Roar had the admin side of thing sorted out, Fong reminds us what a bunch of fickle and useless knobs they are. The delay in signing a coach because the owners aren't getting their way in the negotiations for the new HAL is interesting (and I think indicative of how the new HAL will be run - ie very poorly). I'm now waiting for the announcement that there will be no players singed either until they get their way. Good luck in your membership drive for next year.

@miron
Here’s my guess.
The new coach is already signed and sealed with an agreement to start in June for the new pre-season. They’re either bringing their family down from Europe or Canada anyway so not a quick thing to do and really no point in coming here for the last 2 games.
Having secured the coach, the suits at APFCA thought they might use this “delay” to apply some pressure on the States by making out the negotiations are to blame.
What could go wrong they thought?

Or .... they promised the fans that the process was going well and that a coach would be announced soon, but all negotiations have fallen through and now they don't actually have anyone to announce. So now they are manufacturing a reason for the delay.

They have selected their candidate, but because Miron has to do midyear exams they are waiting till he has finished before his homework will let him do coaching for the Roar.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.

We can make many assumptions about what is going on behind the scenes, but maybe they have chosen the new coach and basically said "Hey, this season was rubbish, and that is why we brought you in. You will have the resources you need to get the job done. We will unveil you once the season is over".
I completely understand the logic behind announcing once the season is over, despite really wanting to know who it is. We need a clean break, and ideally the new coach would have no association at all with this season.

Exactly ....he doesn't have to start before seasons end .There is no need for any excuses about scouting ...just say he is starting from 1 June or some such date .I hope you guys are right, and he has been selected and is looking for players as we speak . I doubt the Roar have selected and then lost a coach ...surely they would have simply rung option 2 and given it to him ?

Or its Robbie Fowler and he doesn't have a pro-license and the FFA refuse to ratify him until he does.

Here’s the final word on what the RSF can find out:
Dear RSF Members As previously advised, we approached the Club on your behalf seeking an update on the appointment of a new head coach at Brisbane Roar Football Club, particularly in light of the article on SBS’s ‘The World Game’ website last weekend. We were able to speak with both Chris Fong and David Pourre this week, and we thank both Chris and David for the time spent in multiple discussions both over the phone and via email. We can also say the discussions were open and candid. We were able to communicate our members frustration, disappointment and in some cases, genuine anger at the reported delay in announcing a new coach. In our discussions we were advised that the club’s recruitment process for a new coach has run its course, and we have to say – based on the information provided – it looks to have been a robust process that has delivered several high-calibre coaching candidates along the way. (We emphasise at this point that the RSF has neither the desire or the mandate to try and evaluate any coaching appointment and that we trust the club has done its homework appropriately in that regard). The Club were left in no doubt about the frustration fans are currently feeling especially in relation to the SBS article reporting delays in the announcement of a new Head Coach, obviously this is compounded by a very disappointing season for the men’s first team. The club accepted this feedback but emphasised the importance of running their process as planned in order to arrive at the best decision possible. They did confirm that the delay suggested in the SBS article last week was speculation not fact and while they would not commit to an actual date for the announcement, they did commit to making the announcement at the earliest date possible to avoid further supporter frustration.

So did Chris Fong say they could not make decisions on a coach if the independent A-League does not go as planned or did he not ? This statement simply says "yes we understand the fans are upset but we will take as long as we want and not give any indication when we will be ready to announce ".... in other words...we the fans know absolutely no more today than we did before the meetings ...not why it has taken so long ....or if they have found anybody yet ..or when they will announce ?

No, your reading what you want in to this, which is understandable given the vacuum of information.
The club have found a candidate and are getting ready to announce him.
They were very clear, they will announce when they’re ready and not before.
The SBS June thing is incorrect.
(I can’t say they were overly understanding of the angst in the fan base over this to be honest).

You have just told me 100 % more than I knew a few minutes ago..... so we have a candidate and they are getting ready to announce ....good news ! I just hope "getting ready to announce" doesn't mean end of June. Conspiracy theory : Rudan has just officially announced he is leaving Nix and is apparently announcing his "intentions" next week.....Hmmm the rumours have all been Western Melbourne ...but he is waiting till next week to announce ??? ....... After we have played Wellington !
A stretch...I know ....but interesting timing ! Ya gotta love a good conspiracy theory ! Edit : Rudan has not officially announced he is leaving the NIx ...my bad ...but he is reported to have told the Nix he is leaving .. Here is the interesting sentence ...."Rudan is preparing his team to face the Roar in Brisbane on Friday night and is reportedly ready to announce his plans next week."
