+x+x+x+xVictory v Glory - 17219 (source: simon hill's beautiful voice in match commentary) Note to FFA Sunday 7pm is a shit time for Melbourne home games. It's a shit time for any club. With only 5 games to be played over a weekend there is zero excuse to play a 7pm game on a Sunday. Actually there's one excuse and that's FFA. Fox would be the primary influence on the that game time. I'll blame the FFA for not having the brains to tell Foxtel how stupid that decision is. They should easily convince Fox that a 7pm Sunday time slot is unacceptable when you only need to fit in 5 games in 3 days.

+xGood numbers in Brisbane. Are our first two round numbers propped up by derby figures? The cumulative attendance after 2 rounds is higher than 2 of the previous 5 seasons and lower than 3. Most seasons early figures are propped up by derby attendance.

+xLast year the highest attended Roar home game was 12k. To have the first two games of the season against CCM and Nix both get 15k is a hugely positive step - there's no cynical angle to be had here. 442 always finds a way ;)

+x+x+xGeez...6+ months of no football then suddenly United has 3 home games in 10 days (Cup final). That's got to have some effect on crowds for our first few home games. Non members are likely to pick and choose in these situations which probably flattens out the attendance on all 3. Anyways, AU v NJ - 10, 237 CCM v MC - 8,876 SFC v WSW - 28, 879 BR v WP - 17,687 MV v PG - 20,312 No idea why I predicted what I did for the Sydney derby. Are people's predictions based mostly on the SCG being bad for viewing or something like that? Yep, I'm basing mine on this. Absolutely hideous. The ends aren't actually too bad. If the distance for one of the sides is close enough, it can be tolerable. Angle is horrid though.

Anything above 10k is good for the Nix, VAR might have put people off.

+x+xThat's right so 30,588 is piss poor. They should have sold out the place. It's impossible to sell out the SCG because a large chunk of the seats are allocated to members. I don't understand why it is expected that the derby should be a sell out at a fucked up cricket stadium. Fair enough at sfs but at the SCG I see no reason why this game should sell out.
