+xTony Grant was Everton's European scout, so I would say he would be in contact with a network of people that span the continent and may be able to unearth a couple of gems out of Europe as well as the UK that aren't PL standard but would be good in the HAL. I am going to remain optimistic. I’m still optimistic. The shit in the football department has been exposed and dealt with and the only way is up now.

Even players who fail to meet the standards of Everton would be out of reach of the Roar.

Recent signings of European quality players at Victory and Sydney (under the cap) proves there is genuine quality out there.

Guys like Toivonen or Mierzejewski would probably fit into that category.

+xDeRossi has left Roma, and is open to opportunities.. My first instinct is to say "China" but they've been taking steps to cool off the spending so maybe a 33 yr old DM isn't as much in demand over there. Very very long shot but hopefully the A-league has a look at it.

+xDid I miss something with Zach Duncan? Where’s he off to? Was linked to CCM. Edit: Played and scored in a reserve game for Aarhus and scored. Thanks Ds98 for posting. https://www.transfermarkt.com/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3147979

Wow! Very ballsy move for an 18 year old with only a handful of senior appearances.
Ty for the info.

Charles Lokolingoy has signed for the Sutherland Sharks and scored for them against Sydney FC in the NPL on the weekend.

6'2" and knows the job of a defender. That's an improvement to start with. His game stats are meaningless by themselves and no-one seems to have paid to get him anytime in his career - but Fowler will know how solid he is at the back to sign him so I think it's good. I hope he has the discipline and ability to tackle cleanly.

he's not a world beater but at 28 he is the right age, has plenty of experience and has proved to be at a better level than league 1 and 2. Our defensive line has really lacked in organisation since North retired, hopefully this is something that Aldred excels at. he is signed with Base soccer agents who have plenty of Aussies including Mauk so hopefully everyone is fully aware of what is needed and what he can do.

I don't mind this signing if he's a solid defender, a leader, can bring some organisation and hardness to our defence and will stick around for a few years. Given where we are, this is the type of player we need.

Looks a tall solid CB on paper. Hope he can actually play with his feet as well.

He's coming at the right age with plenty of experience. If he turns out anything like Mark Hughes did in similar circumstances at NQF then Brisbane are on a winner

You need a good solid CB no matter what. Hope he's the one. What's his speed like? The last good decent back Roar had was Matt Smith. Downhill since then.
