Zelic uses her media platform (and information from FFA sources) to suggest that she 'knows' that Stajcic has clearly done something really bad - thereby justifying the FFA decision. 2. Zelic attempts to walk away from her earlier assertions - without any apology to Stajcic 3. Fair minded football fans call her out on this unacceptable behaviour 4. paulc criticises fans for picking on poor Lucy Will Paulc apologise too? It's just his toxic masculinity, he can't help it if he has more than us lesser men.

So at any time in the last 4 months Gallop or Nikou could have said this. I mean they know why he was sacked. They knew he didn’t breach his contract or commit any misdemeanour.
Absolutely disgusting that instead they chose to let the insinuations made by Reid and her media mouthpieces blacken Stajcic’s reputation for months.

+x+x+xDon't see how Heather Reid keeps her spot on the board. Might be a lawsuit coming her way as well. I'd say the apology would be to stave off legal proceedings. He's been paid out, had his reputation restored and he can now move on. Any legal challenge will cost him a bomb and, seeing we're not America, any damages awarded may not be worth the exercise. Considering the precedent set in the Rebel Wilson defamation case it is probably worth his while to do so. Especially considering the money that is available for football coaches around the world, you could make a very strong legal argument that his character was defamed and because of that he lost significant future earnings, by using the Rebel Wilson case as a precedent you would most likely be successful, I'm sure he wouldn't have come to the Mairners if he could have gone anywhere else and his legal team can extrapolate on that. Wilson had to pay back $4.1m of the $4.7m she was initially awarded after appeal, that and the two or more years it spent in the courts to get to that conclusion is probably enough to give Stajcic second thoughts, even though he was openly slandered.

Keeping things to the facts, I'm keen to see what Zelic actually said at the time. I can't find any tweets, but maybe they're up somewhere else? The quotes in this article are damning enough though: “Do I believe Luke Casserly and David Gallop need to go? I do,” Zelic said.
