+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xI don't know if we can be sure that the coach and players are rubbish. That is like saying a soccer team with no goalkeeper is rubbish.... When the team is lacking in key areas, everyone looks bad. All we can do is address problems in sequence. After 9 we need a good prop who makes yards and has an offload. Depending on how Cogger progresses we might need a halfback. Centre we have Harper that is a position where a good young guy can do the job. 9,7, 8 and 10 you need good players otherwise everyone else is under pressure. It's the excuses that are rubbish for me. There is enough talent and experience to perform to a FG level..they just aren't doing it...neither the players nor the coach. Improvements to the roster are necessary to make Top 8 or 4 but the majority of the forwards are experienced for example. They are horribly out of form and that's on the coach when it involves the majority of the team. Everyone is underestimating how much difference a quality 9 and a really good prop would make. Players are underperforming the coach is making mistakes and I hate the fact that we are finding ways to lose on a regular basis. Winning breeds confidence, as does scoring points, it starts with good players in key positions. We had them. Cook & Klemmer. Managed that we'll didn't we Cool was under previous leadership so forget that, tell me how you would manage an employee that wanted to leave for loads more money in addition to having personal crap going on???... It would be difficult if there wasn't a contract in place. The contract we had was an assett to us and insurance to the player. What compensation did we negotiate for it. Zilch How do you know there was no compensation??? Is that just another assumption like the people who say we're not chasing anyone???... you simply don't keep someone at your club that doesn't want to be there... they become toxic, and based on rumours Klem already was... Did broncos get compensation for Jimmy the Jet???.. or was letting him go worth it??? simple fact is none of us know... I love the fact the new board has a level of class and keeps stuff in house... One of the reasons the media are going so hard at us is cos we don't have leakers like we did under Dib&co.., Your assumptions about other posters "assumptions" is duly noted. Possibly we should deal only in rumours as per your enlightenment on Klem Forget any rumours about Klem, we should just move on.... While Klem is a big loss, I don't think he is the kind of prop I ideally want as our best prop, I can sum that up as I want more impact, even if that is in fewer minutes. if we move Jacko to the middle we have a guy that can play big minutes, same with Elliott and we have Renouf who will eventually play big minutes. What we need is a prop who can score tries, and make tries happen, and who can put on a hit, and get a turn over.... 2 x 15-20 mins of carnage is what we want.

I don't know why people are getting tied up in knots about next year. 2021 was always the year for the most change. They have more money to spend on 7 spots this year than they did last year. That is fact unless Hill was lying at the forum. Next year is the last year for back ended deals. So not only will there be multiple spots open in 2021 but we will have lots of money to spend.
Pay has proved he hasn't got it. If they pay him out early well and good. Some coaches just aren't head coach material and Pay is one of them. Fans should not have to watch another season like this one. They have lost 2k members this year and they will lose more next year if Pay is coaching. Don't forget they will trying to entice Kia to stay as major sponsor and this pitiful year aint helping.

I think he needs at least 2 wins in the next 6 games, there is a bye in the middle, none of them easy games .... The next 2 games are easier, if the club has some momentum... or they are the kind of games a new coach could win on the bounce...

Deano knows what he signed up for ....and the club knows what the has got to work with... the media knows nothing, they make stuff up....
Commonsense tells you any coach of a team at the bottom of the table that is losing regularly has got a problem... regardless of the talent they have got to work with.

Players might not be smart but they know when the coach is clueless.

Fair enough ... but I would not take the media speculation as gospel.... it is looking like a matter of time ... but like Zef and I said earlier all they will do is replace him with the assistant coach, for the rest of the season.... If the assistant coach puts Holland back in on the right, and drops Hoppa we might get a few more wins.. regardless at the right time it will produce a win or 2.. it isn't going to turn this team into a contender.

As the assistant coach is Greek we might get a few more Greek fans at the games ... desperate times.... if they are serving Greek food .. might get me at some games.

https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/01/23/2019-nrl-signings-player-transfers-and-contracts/#bulldogsUnless this is changed or wrong, and if the reports of 7 spots available for 2020 are true - then the following players are punted come season's end: Nu Brown, Fatulalo, Lichaa, Martin, Olive, Saddler, Tualau. 15 more off contract the end of '20. Only 6 currently signed till '21. Only CHN till '22. If you had a Premiership squad, that'd be terrifying. If you need to build one, that's fantastic... ... if you got the right bloke to build it.

Georgallis needs to focus on getting Greece to the world cup! I read an article recently suggesting Greece is 1 win away from qualifying for the world cup. I think they play Scotland and some other nuffie team (Russia or something) and only need to win one of those.

+xI think it'd be better if you just hit the link and see for yourself. Sorry my bad. Just looking at that list, I dont think we need to offload all 7 off contract end of this year. I would definitely let Olive go and Lichaa. If we get a good hooker, we can also let Brown go, but if not, we must keep him.

+xI think it'd be better if you just hit the link and see for yourself. Yes it is a good set up. Not that all of those players are going, simply because we get to keep any we want to keep, and can easily let any others go. The coach will know that the rebuild is partially done, and we have a core of young players with NRL experience, some of them worth keeping. I'll add when a team is playing badly that is a good opportunity to judge a player. Any player who regularly stands out in a beaten team is worth keeping. Assuming that player suits the style the coach wants to play. Most of the heavy lifting is being done this season, I'm glad it isn't a total waste.
