90% of the private workforce hasn’t joined a union. The majority of the 10% who did are public servants. If the unions used their member’s money on their members instead of giving it to Labor to overblow the size of an already inefficient and budget sucking public service, the better.

It was mentioned on TV political shows that in this recent election an accumulative $17 mill went from the unions to Labor.

This video makes a lot of sense with what is happening at the moment in Australia, it never used to be like it is now. At first when I saw it I wasn't sure about a few things, but a little think and the observations he makes are pretty spot on I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A6IcHa1YnU

I must admit, I find this whole factional cracking within the Union movement quite fascinating. This whole situation about Setka's comments and the brimfire response from ALP and the ATCU to be hilarious, clearly a House of Cards power play to remove a powerful figure within the movement. I'm still trying to find and exact quote as to what he said. Each article coming out about it descends deeper and deeper into the language and metaphor of his comments; "denigrating, vile, disposing" etc. The sans edition is that he said Rosey Battie's work has resulted in less rights for men. Something that people at the meeting said didn't happen. While I don't agree with the comments made, it does seem to be a massive storm in a teacup. Looks like a loose thread in a shirt that those withing the UM decide to try and use to unravel him, which doesn't seem to be working so well now that multiple other unions have come out I. Support of him lol. With the way Sally McManus has been doing the rounds in the media the last few weeks (and years to an extent), wouldn't be surprised if she's Labor leader within the next 7-10 years. -PB

+xAren't they found to have links with outlaw Bikie Groups? Correct, well in respect to Setka anyway and he is their number one. He is going to court again and has a terrible list of breaches and illegal activities as long as your arm going over the last few years. Not to mention he is unfit in character to head sch a powerful and influential organisation.

Setka's a grub. The union movement needs to kick him and other clowns like him out and get back to what they used to be about. When the leader of a union looks and acts like a member of a bike gang you know they've lost the plot.

If you see or meet him in person you understand why. Guy has a aura which is fuck with me and your dead. He is a product of a bygone era where bully boy tactics and intimidation was the go to. He would fit right in in the old painters and dockers union.
