This is huge, not only for Singh himself but also for the League and NZ football.

Article is in German.

When a club that gives young guys a go whilst it helps that you able to compete at an international tournament and doing really well it won’t harm your chances.

If only the same mindset applied to our countries clubs and FA.

Seriously though this would have terrific move for him, huge window of opportunity if he knuckles down.

Well deserved because he’s a great talent.

"Allerdings ist Singh zunächst nur für die 2. Mannschaft des FC Bayern vorgesehen."

He's going to be a signing for their 2nd team, which won the Regionalliga Bayern and will be in the 3. Liga next season.

He'll have access to better coaching and facilities, potentially get a lot more games per season and it'll be a good way to get your foot in the door of Europe. He'll want to progress quickly and attract the attention of a higher division club though as he hasn't got a hope in hell of breaking into the first team and the 3rd Division is as high as reserves teams can go.

Disappointed not to be seeing him for one more year (and hopefully this completes the exits at Nix) but what a great move for the kid.

They story is that they are looking to sign with a view to him moving to the 1st team squad if he performs so ‘hasn’t a hope in hell’ is incorrect. Of course the signing does need to be confirmed.
If the rumours are correct then this surely would be the biggest move by a player from the A League and massive publicity for the league as a whole....but of course the Nix don’t add anything to the league.....

Happy for the lad, but literally 100% of reserve team signings for every club in the world claim ‘view to eventual move to the first team’. Of course that’s the hope. Doesn’t mean anything though.

I thought Mooy to Man City was the same sort of deal as Caceres to Man City and Brattan to Man City.

i have no idea about the reserve leagues in europe or if he will make the first team. But this does tell me for all the hate and laughter our league gets it's clear someone is watching. i know he played in the under 21 world cup and he could of been scouted there but he still could of been scouted playing in the a league

Ha ha yes as Singh would actually be a real signing i.e. would play for them at some stage not a convenience singing (in saying that Mooy is a very good player, has made the most of the opportunity afforded him and cemented himself a good gig away from Man City)

SC Freiburg or Bayern Munich, you tell me which is higher profile. Even if he only plays reserves the name alone is the key

Playing in the Bundesliga is higher profile. No argument surely?

There’s hundreds of kids in the European Academy system loaned out to lower league clubs .... basically you’re asking people to get more excited over a kid that’s not playing in the Bundesliga over the one that is.

The last kid that signed for a high Profile European Academy has basically just signed for Western United. The time to get excited is when they make it not just when they have the chance

Yes. Reserve teams like Bayern U23 can play as high up as 3rd tier. It's really time to abolish this system.

You think so? I think its good that there is a compromise, since the addition of the 3rd tier reserve teams are not allowed in the top two tiers.

A potential signing to the third division reserves is the biggest thing to happen in the Southern hemisphere.
